Sentry and cabin climate control battery drain

Thanks but see my earlier comment. I don't think it was COP in my case, as I said it was 21°c in my garage at 11pm, i didn't manually turn on the AC, so why was AC (or at least the fan) running on its own when nothing on the app or screen indicates it should be? I understand the DC-DC converter...

Sentry and cabin climate control battery drain

Yeah but think about it tho, what's "sleep mode"? Cos in engineering terms, the loss (or draw) is the sum of parasitic drain. We know this can't be due to battery cell balancing as that's a resistive balancing strategy and happens whether the HV contactors are open or closed. So what is actually...

Sentry and cabin climate control battery drain

Re Sentry mode draining battery - I've made a really interesting observation last night. I came home on the motorbike and walked past the parked Model Y (which had Sentry enabled even at home). As I walked past it, I can hear the AC running as you can hear the air getting sucked in the cabin air...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Sorry the closest is the HDMI taking over the rear view window, which imo is a great integration because you still need the rest of the screen for car controls like HVAC/air suspension/Bluetooth calls etc within easy and quick reach especially whilst you're driving.

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Reach out to UPDD and see if they have anything. I understand the pain, I spent all of last weekend trying to resurrect the touch function of an ancient HP Touchsmart for the kids.. still no luck -but UPDD were the only peeps to have drivers of friggin every VID/PID imaginable. Infineon wouldn't...

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

We got our MYP under LCT threshold.. I better not say too much, apparently only about 3 or 4 customers in the whole country managed to achieve that, so that'd make it pretty easy for Tesla to identify me.

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Yeh so I'd say someone's can just put an LVDS deserialiser+HDMI switcher+LVDS serializer in a box to sit between the MCU and the screen right between the fakra ports (to make it plug & play). The I2C line gives me an idea tho, it's almost 100% guarenteed that'd just deserialise as USB HID...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

If I had to guess, I'd say their cars have a different firmware than yours and mine. One which natively supports external input, eg: via a USB-C port or something.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

OMG No wonder Tesla was pushing the 30 June deliveries so hard.. there was a $4k discount on its way which only the top brass knew about. This is why we shouldn't laugh at owners listing their 2022's for more than new list price, the poor souls on here who took delivery just this week gone have...

BUG: Autopilot engaging the HDMI interface

[For future searchers' benefit]: on the "older" S and X's that have the full steering wheel buttons+scroll wheels (not just the scroll like the 3/Y's), you can hold the button below the right scroll wheel and it will also toggle between HDMI or reverse camera. that's what I've been doing if I go...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

to be fair if my HDMI box can takeover the whole screen and touchscreen functions and move it to a different host computer and allowing me to switch back and forth, that'd work for me too. but it can't. And we can't simply take over the whole screen either witiout taking the MCU apart and...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

On the one hand i feel sorry for the seller, cos they just paid a higher price a year ago and just tryna get some of it back - to be honest, most of us gonna be in that situation in a year or two's time and we're all gonna cry cos new P's by then might be selling for 70k and we'd just be shaking...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

in your Tesla portal under Manage your order, there are links to download owners manual etc. Not trying to be smartarse about it but if you go thru it you'll actually learn a lot of that stuff upfront. Most people dont even bother reading it and wants a Tesla rep to go thru the car with them...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

omg that's weird.. my exact spec is now showing as inventory yet my actual order dont even have a VIN yet! k i'll follow up!! thx! EDIT: nvm - cant be done. That inventory's in WA and they dont transfer cars interstate... gawddd Tesla can be SOOO frustrating to deal with!

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

ive noticed on this forum quite a lot of ppl took a punt before the new LCT thresholds were announced, and went and ordered color/wheel optioned LR's anyway kinda half betting for a FY24 delivery. I wish i'd done that, considering my original white order date, if I had ordered the blue that I...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

yeh tax incentives are different for different folks. I personally already know of 2 camps, the hard EOFY guys are probably doing an instant asset writeoff this FY whilst the "1jul doesn't really matter" guys are probably doing NL... then there are the ballers paying cash going "what tax?" The...

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

Aliexpress search for "Tesla Model Y white seat covers" - lol just trying to avoid the wrath of TMC for direct linking external products, might get my ass kickbanned... Amazon the same if you got Prime and want it on your doorsteps by this weekend lol. Honestly doesnt really matter who you get...

dunno, talk to ur accountant and see if it makes a difference. but having everything clearly within the correct FY helps to iron out ambiguity i guess, and if it doesnt cost u money to reissue it, why not?

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

Awesome! thx for the heads up. yeh apparently all the China domestic Y's have had extended seats since Nov22. (then again, they've also had comfort suspension since 1st Jan and we didnt get it till 1/4 build onwards). Good to know, I'll order the non-extended seat covers.
  23. L

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

yeh if u could hold it off till after EOFY that'll work for u... lucky u, that was a bit risky ordering above LCT in the first place in case the car arrives early. But make friends with your SA and see if they can reissue invoice post 1-Jul... my SA hinted someone (maybe accounts?) could have...

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

I can't find the post now but someone's already taken delivery of their Y-LR right? I'm trying to order some seat covers ahead of receiving our car so they turn up around the same time, but the seller mentioned that 2023 Y's (at least in China) have a an extended rear seat, but none of the AU...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I ordered our optionless (sub-LCT) LR on 4/4 launch date too and already got vin on 5/5... But we also had Plaids which got canned and TSLA's process refuses to let us apply the credit on our LR cos the Plaids were on a different email address despite same owner. Hence we had to rejoin the Q in...

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

you could be right. I actually dont know for sure if it's NMC or NCA, I've only been told by the rep they're def 2170 cells and definitely not the 4680 structural packs like they have in the US - which I was kinda hoping for, but no luck.
  28. L

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

it def wont be LFP. Mainly because the max C rating of LFP cells can't sustain constant output for two motors. As far as sales rep at Tesla tells us, LR and P still have the same 2170 NCA cells. only RWD is LFP cells. that checks with the model 3's too. In my case I didnt order for the longer...

[pics] Upgraded factory projector HIDs to aftermarket Laser projectors

From what I can gather, people have only tried installing facelift headlights onto older cars and required CAN coding (suggesting the wiring harness is largely compatible?), i havent seen any references of people going the other way round of installing projector headlights on a facelift car. If...

[pics] Upgraded factory projector HIDs to aftermarket Laser projectors

Sorry late reply. Not on the HID (pre-facelift) cars. The HID Ballast was basically analog, straight 12Vdc for low and high beam. The car also never detected a change in current draw or threw a code. In fact the car's been to the service centre multiple times for different things since, not one...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

There must be someone in this forum who's got MCU2 and FM radio and is kind enough to be willing to do some packet sniffing/capture of the ethernet protocol in between? Anyone?
  35. L

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Does anyone know, or have any specs or documentation to what the ethernet tuner IP protocol might look like? Perhaps it's possible to create a module that mimics the "FM radio" but actually takes an external hardwired audio input like PCM/SPDIF? Google have turned up absolutely zilch aside from...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Yeah i just dunno how i feel about spending yet another $500 on an FM module. Seriously tho an aux port has been standard on car stereos since the turn of the millennium. I wish Tesla came up with ann aux port, even if it's one of those optic fibre ones, cos transmitting via FM as an aux is...

    HDMI interface to the touchscreen

Funny i was playing with my HDMI box a few days ago, with my old MCU1 there was an analog input harness for the radio so i was able to just splice the wire, tune to a non-existent AM station (so you get silence instead of static on FM) and just have clean audio coming through like an aux port. I...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

you misunderstand - I'm in an area where solar output greatly exceeds demand during the day. I've started getting negative FiT for exporting to grid. In my case (can't speak for others), my intended solution is to soak up excess solar that has literally nowhere else to go but to get wasted. 1)...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

2021.36 finally turned up for my car. Running update now! I'll hopefully know right afterwards whether the API will work :) Update: Woohoo! Works!! returns true if successful, otherwise returns error on vehicle id etc! This might keep me busy this coming weekend.. hehehe

    Model S REST API

Re chaging_amps, we've been chatting about it over here Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar but probably best to centralise API-based discussions on this thread.. tried this too, still getting a 404 in postman... most likely bcos the car's not on...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

oooh didnt know that, this just started happening last couple of weeks so im not up to my next billing cycle yet. good to know. Either way, i'm now manually charging the excess into my car as planned to minimize export, looking forward to being able to automate it. only manual thing i'll need to...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

@Vostok I'm with Amber which just passes wholesale prices directly... we've had negative FiT for a few days this week now, but typically around noon... those on a different retailer probably wont see negative FiT's for a while (that's because they make it up their margin off you elsewhere). It's...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

Thanks heaps! That is a lot closer than I got, I'm an android user and the Android version isnt even up yet. I'd imagine the parameter to be something straightforward like ?amps=xx or ?charging_amps=xx etc... would only take a minute or two to guess it now that we have the exact endpoint...

Adjust Tesla charge rate from mobile app, API & PW2 to allow use of excess solar

only took like 10 years... but looks like it's finally here.. just waiting for 2021.36 to drop OTA. ps. not my pic. repost off FB post. I dont think the app is on Android yet, not that I care, I just want the API.

[pics] Upgraded factory projector HIDs to aftermarket Laser projectors

IMHO this projector setup is way clearer and brighter than the factory matrix LED ones given the loan cars I've driven.. so if I had an LED car I'd most likely end up buying a set of pre-facelift headlights (since they're like dirt cheap on ebay these days) and retrofitting the car with it. Also...

[pics] Upgraded factory projector HIDs to aftermarket Laser projectors

Because it was my first time taking my tesla headlight housing apart (taking ANY headlight housing apart!), and that I wanted to get rid of every last bit of glue before I sealed it back, it took much longer than it needed to. Most people will tell you it's between a 2-4 hour job, I took about...

[pics] Upgraded factory projector HIDs to aftermarket Laser projectors

I had 3D printed a cover plate that is the exact size of the ballast opening. A ring of silicone was added to the inside edge that pushed against the headlight housing to ensure the cap is watertight. as for sealing the lens, they sell the OEM seals online. But I just used a tube of black...

[pics] Upgraded factory projector HIDs to aftermarket Laser projectors

I've tried that too but not installed. I have a spare US-spec whole headlight with 35W ballast and have ran it off battery next to my 25W car, unfortunately i didnt take a pic or vid cos required both hands... the 35W was only marginally brighter (if anything, less yellow)... whereas the laser...
