Update on AP Camera Update for Older S/X Vehicles

I tried this approach twice now and got denied both times. I have a 2017 Model S (April 2017 build) and will keep trying. Not sure what the secret is to get the camera upgrade to actually use the FSD feature we all paid for years ago.

Preparing Model S for third party trade in

I have a 2017 Model S purchased in May 2017 with FSD and am currently running 2021.32.22 with HW 3.0, MCU2. I had Tesla upgrade my computer to HW 3.0 and I paid $1500 for the MCU2 upgrade (thanks to the gains in my Tesla stock) and currently my car sees traffic lights, slows for them when on...

Who with a score of 100 and more than 100 miles is still waiting for FSD roll out?

I purchased FSD 4 years ago when I purchased the car. Living and driving in So. Cal and having to achieve a safety score of 100 in order to perhaps, maybe, someday get the software and FSD attributes I already paid for seems odd. If I could get a safety score of 100 what would I need FSD for...

"Why should I pay for your gas? I'm not paying for anyone else's gas"

Generally, we lock down the convenience outlets to prevent unauthorized use. The electrical outlets are typically there for maintenance equipment and not individuals. Funny that those that can afford $50,000+ for cars feel entitled to receive free electricity to run them. We do provide...

    Snippiness 2.0

I figured as such....not only do you not read the manual, you don't read the posts or responses. Not really shopping mind you but had some time to waste and I have your thread and posts to help me out. Thanks! Have a great day.

    Snippiness 2.0

On the flip side, if folks took the time to learn about their vehicles and actually do a little work on their own it would make this forum more efficient. With that said, I will move on and look at things that do not require hand holding. No response necessary. Good luck with your new car.

MCU1 dash cam videos: fixed going to MCU2?

I recently had my 2017 Model S hardware updated to 3.0 with MCU 1. Saved dash cam and sentry recordings run for about 5-10 seconds then the frame freezes, pixelates and thats it for the clip. Fairly useless.

    Tesla ignoring older cars!

I would happy just to get the functionality that I paid for when I bought the FSD for my 2017 Model S. I cannot utilize any of the newer software upgrades because I do not have the appropriate HW for FSD. Still waiting for the new computer we were promised.

So is HW2.0 to HW3 finally going to be available later this month?

Still waiting to hear from Tesla on my HW 3.0 computer upgrade. My Apr '17 Model S has the MCU1 and was actually replaced once under warranty. I was pricing out a new Model S and the prices have come down quite a bit considering the technology and range improvements. I asked for a trade-in...

    Frimware 2020.12.10 MCU1/AP2.0

My situation is the same - 2017 Model S 75D April 2017 build. Still waiting on the computer upgrade. Tried to upgrade software twice from iPhone and it failed at about 10%. I went to the car and reset the MCU and then tried to update from the car. It worked OK and is now updated. Haven't...

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

Update from earlier in the month: I will keep an eye on this thread to see if anything changes but right now I will forego the $1400 plus labor I was quoted to replace the passenger side DRL/headlight assembly. Especially now that the driver's side is starting to go. That would have been...

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

Glad I found this thread to understand the issue and realize its not just my car I noticed this morning that my 2017 Model S 75D passenger side DRL ring is out. Headlight still works. With 55,000 miles and out of warranty I'll save my $1000 for now as it doesn't really impact me driving the...

    Auto Present Only Driver Handle?

I tried it again this morning and you are correct, it does work. I tried to do this a while back but did not get it to work. This is one of the reasons I check this forum every now and again. Thanks for caring enough to reply.

    Auto Present Only Driver Handle?

I don’t believe there is a auto present for driver door only. There is a setting for unlocking only the driver door when exiting but all the door handle auto present when returning to vehicle.

Not sure about the 100% level but my 2017 Model S 75D went from 224 miles at 90% charge to 217 miles after 28,500 miles and 16 months. Not a big deal and not worried about it. Daily commute is about 120 miles round trip.

    Autopilot and Lane Splitters

I tried folding and unfolding the mirror but it rotated the wrong direction (full forward) which I thought was odd. I did not push the button twice in succession. Maybe that’s the difference.

    Autopilot and Lane Splitters

Thanks for the responses. I generally provide room for two wheelers but this specific instance really disappointed me and caught me off guard. Autopilot and Lane Splitters

I like autopilot especially while in the carpool lane with my HOV stickers going with the flow of traffic. This past week I had an incident which really ticked me off. Washing vehicle

There is one. You simply put the wipers in the maintenance mode and they come up a few inches so that you can clean underneath them and change the wiper blades when needed. It is covered in the owner's manual.

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I took delivery on 5-12-17 of a 75D with a VIN 196xxx which why I am subscribed to this thread. I am in the gray area as far as uncorking goes. I can't tell if I should feel optimistic or not. I have called a couple Tesla service centers but get a different answer every time. Granted my car...

That's weird, I just noticed my was on as well. Normally, I don't check the garage after I park it and walk away. Tonight I went to the garage and the fan was going and the screen was on, mirrors out etc. I turned it off with the key fob. Strange .

When did you receive your Model S? I have a 196XXX VIN 75D that I took delivery in San Diego on 5-12-17. I have been following this thread to see if my ride is capable of being uncorked based on VIN. Any info would be appreciated.
