    Possible To Add More Panels?

Thank you for all the responses! @charlesj was 100% correct - Tesla was having problems fitting additional panels on the roof. After several back and forth communications with them (yes, communication with Tesla is as bad as everyone says it is), I was able get them to understand that I was in...

    Possible To Add More Panels?

I'm currently working with Tesla to get solar installed on my house. I've received the first design and they dropped my desired 9.6kW system down to 4.8kW (which will only offset 48% of my usage). I requested a design change with more panels and was almost immediately told that they couldn't...

    Smart summon problem

I may be remembering incorrectly, but didn't smart summon require a map update? I would have thought all cars in the fleet would have it by now, but maybe you only get it if you have smart summon unlocked?

Does Connector Button Now Wake Up Car?

In the past, if I left my car plugged in overnight, when I went to get in the next morning I would need to wake it up by lightly pressing one of the door handles before I could press the button on the wall connector wand and remove it. However, in the past month or so, I have been able to press...

Coming from eGolf, my Model 3 SR+ range doesn't feel right

In case you didn’t know, this is not something you want to do. If you need the extra range that you get from charging to > 90%, try to time it so that you finish charging right before you leave. You never want the battery to sit at 100%.

Do electromagnetic fields cause long term damage to health by driving an EV?

You can’t ignore whether or not EMF is safe, that’s the entire point of the thread. That’s like saying “I’m worried that humans will melt if they get wet; ignoring whether or not that’s actually true, I certainly would never live in Seattle.”

Do electromagnetic fields cause long term damage to health by driving an EV?

Meaning you think supercharging is unsafe?

How to take care of your battery without stressing: advice for new owners.

I mostly agree with you, but my one nitpick is with the above. If you're doing extra driving just to run the battery down and recalibrate the BMS, then yes, you are "wasting cycles." If you were going to drive anyway and you skip recharging for a while in order to run the battery down, then...

    Bumper falls off in rain

This is the kind of thing that really drives me crazy. Obviously, bumpers shouldn't be falling off just by driving through a puddle. Also obvious that the owner has made some aftermarket modifications, which may or may not have contributed to this. The owner claims he was only driving 10-15...

    Home charging confusion

All of your options are good choices. If you don’t absolutely need the max charging rate, then using the ChargePoint you currently have is the most economical. If you’re going to spend money on a new Tesla connector, I would vote for the wall connector just because it’s convenient and looks...

Tesla got the worst score in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey

Driver's vanity mirror shattered - manufacturing defect - Tesla will not cover it

    Range increase on 2020.24.6.1

Mine went up two miles (268 @90%) after being stable at 266 for about a year. I don't know if it was the update or the fact that I went to the lowest charge I've ever had that same day - down to ~30% while normally I never go below 50.

I've always been too paranoid about scratching the paint to ever put things on the top of my car. Now I don't have to worry about it as much with the glass roof but I'm glad I never got into the habit. I have a coworker who has gone through several iPhones this way.

Musk said all cars would get HW 3.0, according to InsideEVs Article

“All Tesla’s being produced right now...” He didn’t say all Tesla’s produced now and all Tesla’s in the future. There’s absolutely nothing in what he said that precludes Tesla from installing HW 2.5 in later cars. The only reason it was a problem in China was because Tesla was advertising...

Tesla got the worst score in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey

I've never really had a reason to care about JDP until this report came out, but any quality ranking list that puts Dodge at the top and manufacturers like Toyota and Honda near the middle (not to mention boutique and luxury imports near the bottom) definitely rings my WTF bell. While I'm...

Charing experience in Dallas while living in an apartment?

You will probably get roughly 25mi/hr using it (depends on the actual voltage to the unit, if it’s on a commercial 208V circuit you’ll be closer to 20 mi/hr). So it will cost you a buck a day to refill after your commute. The bigger issue for me would be the hassle of having to move the car...

Charing experience in Dallas while living in an apartment?

Do you have any normal 15/20 amp outlets where you park? A lot of people don't realize you can charge from pretty much any electrical source; it doesn't have to be a special charging stall. I charged on a 15 amp outlet at an apartment for almost 2 years, it gave me enough juice to almost make...

I wish we could rank our service visits in the app, so Tesla could know which areas need work. It sounds like it's a real crap shoot depending on which area you're in. I've had fantastic service from the Littleton, CO service center, and my mobile appointments have also been great.
