In an ideal world I would keep my MS85D for 8-12 years. The car is amazing and (in Europe) AP1 is probably still better than AP2 and god knows when FSD will actually be a reality. The only upgrades I actually want are MCU2 and a new chemistry 400 mile range battery replacement in 2-4 years...

I’m not paying Tesla $16k for an extra 25 miles of range when they should just fix or replace my 85 pack under warranty! Pre capping, an 85 used to meet my use case.

I think Tesla have chosen their words very carefully. Notice the phrase “.. with enough wear to ..” Will Tesla next try dodging warranty by asserting owner induced wear and tear rather than some kind of battery cell, module or BMS failure?

Maybe Tesla’s solution to returning range is to monkey around with the wh/mi constant instead of actually fixing the battery cap. Reducing that number only gives the illusion that range is being restored !

2016 with 44k miles

Anyone else noticed that the Tesla app now displays (some kind of) range value when you change the charge limit? The value only appears while holding or moving the charge limit slider. This is for an 85D and the app estimates 214 miles @90% and 238 miles @100%

Perhaps this is because the battery is charging so gently (low charge rate) from 90-100% that it has time to cool down enough that the pumps/fans are no longer required?

I think this might be deliberate as it’s something I reported here last week or the week before. I believe that the range reported in the binnacle or instrument cluster is higher than the range reported by the nav system. A few times I’ve tried to complete a 100+ mile journey with 140 or more...

I wonder if the arbitration clause only exists in the CPO or "used cars from Tesla" purchases. I imagine that from Tesla's perspective, arbitration takes less time and incurs less financial cost than dealing with the courts which is why they may prefer this option for dispute resolution...
