    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

At this supercharger, the last four spaces are 45 min parking and the first four are Tesla only. This makes sense since it is so close to the playground/dog park. Still probably only about 20 percent of folks wearing masks but that might get better as most of the major stores in town are...

I've had a Tesla Modena jacket sitting in my closet for a few years because it is a bit too snug on me. So I just listed in as a charity ebay auction. Please share the link if you know anyone who might be interested: Discontinued S3XY Tesla Modena leather jacket - Womens Large OEM | eBay

    Mobile service in Wyoming

Thanks, seems like I'll need it. The day before my CO appointment I did talk to someone who said they will send the info to the mobile team who may come up towards Casper once or twice a month. Did not hear anything further so rescheduled a couple weeks later. Hoping I can get some sort of...

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

It's live! Also learned this one, and all the other V3 locations, have four chargers to a post. So no need to park in every other spot.

Relative to the young ladies posting, I'd guess "older" is >30. I'll swing by on the way back from my office this afternoon.

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

Seems to be enough political will to get the SC built at Hat Six, but the facebook chatter when they teased the chargers was pretty varied/interesting! Apparently older single men driving Teslas are particularly at risk here :D

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

Yup, but Casper is the center of the petroleum industry here in Wyoming. I did mention both that it runs on Wyoming electricity and also that the vehicles themselves have the more American-made components as any other car. But the thing that seems to reassure him the most is that there have been...

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

Was there is morning and even though it's not on yet, one of the guys who works there said they were still expecting it to go live sometime today. He also said having the chargers there has been an unpopular decision with their other customers, with people complaining to them and even the...

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

Stopped by the Hat Six today and everything looks ready but no juice yet. Also, the Hampton/Hilton Garden Inn in Casper is down to one Tesla charger possibly. The plastic adapter piece is gone on the second one. I wasn't brave evough to test if it was still working like that, but snapped a...

    Mobile service in Wyoming

I am near Casper and had to schedule a service appointment for the first time in a while because the buttons on my steering wheel stopped working. I was hoping to get a mobile service appointment, but I was only given the option to go to the Colorado (or farther) service centers. Does this...

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

OK, I've tried attaching the photo to the post. More importantly: I got lucky and caught the contractors as they were coming back from lunch. They told me that Tesla is scheduled to come up and commission the supercharger on June 30th. Fingers crossed!

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

I spoke to the business development person for the company that owns Hat Six, and they are really excited for them to be up and working as well. She sent me this photo of the work being done this morning. Looks promising! I'll swing by later today or tmw to check on them...

    Mid-Canada Superchargers

If Tesla wanted to go for a supercharger in the Prada area, I was hoping they would be able to do it at Sophie's Restaurant in Hadashville. One mile further, but WAY better food!

XPEL Stealth satin finish PPF easy to maintain ?

I had a full Xpel Stealth a year and a half ago. It still looks great and I don't think the maintenance changes greatly one way or the other. One piece of advice is to be clear on what a "full wrap" means. Some do the headlights, mirrors, etc as part of the package and some do not it seems....

    Wyoming Supercharger build out 2016

The Hat Six Travel Center near Casper reported signing a supercharger contract with Tesla this month, giving a year to build... hopefully sooner! I'm glad, since that place is open 24 hrs and their renovations and new restaurants make it a good spot right off the I-25.

    Other Owners in Wyoming?

Well, Wyoming's EV tax increase was signed into law Tuesday. Below is part of the correspondence I had with one of my better legislators who provided a perspective that was likely the rationalization for many of the votes... which basically said (diplomatically) they need money and EV owners are...

Omaze raffling a new MS P100D for Kimbal Musk's charity

Here's a chance to win an S P100D: According to the rafffle site, 80% of the proceeds go to Kimbal Musk's charity that is building outdoor Learning Garden classrooms across America and Omaze takes its 20% cut. I've nothing to do with this raffle, but have used Omaze in the past and they are...

    Model X 100D practical range

How is the dashboard battery % calculated?

Is there any information about this anywhere? I started wondering when I had to charge to 100% a dozen times or so on road trips and noticed the first 10-20% of the battery drops much faster than the Wh/mi measurement suggests, then levels off. This significantly affected the initial estimated...

    Model X 100D practical range

It's the highway driving that eats away the range. The 295 mile range assumes driving at 65 mph. Over time, the car starts to take into account a driver's normal speed and tailor the range estimates. If strong winds are against you, that can also eat away at the range.

Winter is Coming - when do you install your winter tires?

Yes, @f-stop is right, that SUV and sizing is the correct one for the X. And @SMSMD it was actually my sidewall that went, so there is some more evidence to support your SS's warning. Not a huge deal when there is availability, but a big problem if there are no replacement tires....

    New Supercharger Fair Use Policy

@smac @Tex EV Is there substantiated evidence that Tesloop doesn't pay for use? The driver seemed pretty non nonchalant and sure of it. If it's not true, good to know; no point in being snotty about it though. I've heard @AnxietyRanger's theory is that Tesla doesn't want to backtrack on the...

    New Supercharger Fair Use Policy

When I was in CA last month, I approached a Tesloop driver and asked him about this new policy... He replied that Tesloop has always paid for their use of the Superchargers. Which I found strange: If that pay per use precedent was there with Tesloop, why make it sound like all other commercial...

Winter is Coming - when do you install your winter tires?

To be honest @mknox I had my stock tires on too short a time to make the comparison myself, but Consumer Reports tests rates the WRG3's rolling resistance as "excellent". I remember reading CR did test using a dynamometer outside of the lab to get these ratings and found the efficiency gain from...

Winter is Coming - when do you install your winter tires?

I got Nokian WRG3s for my Model X this season which have been great except for the availability. I blew out a sidewall in one of the rear ones during the holiday and Discount Tire had only 4 of these tires left in the US. No other store could source them at all. I was impressed Discount Tire...

    The situation in Iceland

Regarding using Tesla's as rentals in Iceland, I agree with @reynirb'd doubts and will add a few other serious drawbacks: Those $100/day rentals in the high season are for cars that would be priced around $10-20k in the US. I'd imagine a M3 would go for ~$200/day and an S/X would be well over...
