Winter Tires and Rims - Canadian Availability

I stopped into a Kal tire today and asked about ordering some Nokian Hakka R2's but they say they're all sold out for Tesla sizes with no ETA... anyone else know where I could source them?

Good luck finding them once we’re into November. They were sold out in 245/45/19 size last year and the year before by end of October. I ordered a set in Sept last year before they sold out. If you cross over to the US, you can possibly try Discount Tire/Americas Tire, as they carry Nokians. The Discount Tire site says they are out of stock on R2’s at the moment as well...might want to call a store to see if they have local inventory.

From personal experience and from what customers pick. blizzaks seems to be the best choice by customers. i loved them, they dont last as much as some tires but i rather have a softer and smoother ride than longevity.

On another note. has anyone heard that tesla is no longer offering tire and wheel storage? i have had 4 customer call today and ask if we offer storage ( since we are close to yorkdale ) i guess they looked up shops within a close drive

Anybody tried Bridgestone winter tires? Apparently that’s all I can get locally ATM.

Rims are another problem altogether. -.-

Had a Blizzaks on my IS350 and my wife has them on her RX350. I despise them primarily because of road noise but I never found them to be great on wet roads (decent on snow). Tread wear wasn’t great either.

This year I will try X-Ice 3’s for the first time.

So, a big thanks to @SmartElectric who was instrumental in convincing me to get the R187s. Here are some pics of Struja with her freshly painted calipers, new R-187 rims and Michelin X-Ice 3 Tires. I did them at Tires23. Guys did a great job.

Hey up North folks - ordered a set of the Bridgestone 19” LM-32 last Thursday from discount tire; they had 12 in stock showing. Have to see how these perform versus the Bridgestone WS80 and earlier versions of the WS line. I’m in Michigan (probably my 5th or 6th set of blizzacks over past 15-20 years and I’m sure all other brands are just as good - I’ve just had great luck and wear with this line).

Tried getting Hakka R2 from kaltire. They are out of 265-45-20 they had 275-45-20. Also out of Hakka 9's

I bought the wrg3's instead, they are an allweather tire. I will use these for now and try to get Hakka R2 for next year. Couldn't find any tire in stock 20 inch Tesla size Except the Pirelli Scorpion Which are overpriced and not as good

Wrg3's can be used to replace stock tire when they need to be replaced. I'm in the Gta.

I ordered a set of Michelin X-ICE XI3 with RMC TS1007 wheels from Braidan tire in Markham. About $500 cheaper than the Tesla official price. I don't like the wheels as much as the OEM slipstreams, but they're not bad.

I tried getting in touch with tires23 since there was a recommendation from someone in this thread. Tried three times and the guy basically didn't want my business. Just kept putting me on hold as soon as I said I was inquiring about winters and never came back. Oh well - his loss.

IMHO, for $500 difference I would go with OE. They come with sensors and everything guaranteed to work.
OE support = Less headache for me.

Sorry, $2600 vs. $3400. I hadn't had my coffee when I wrote $500 this morning. :) So $850 difference after tax. Both included TPMS. The guy at Braidan went and checked to ensure he could program them for Tesla, which he confirmed back to me in writing. So I'm fairly confident. Worth the difference for me. I think the RMC wheels look decent. We'll (wheel!) see!
