Yeah I think the issue is likely that iOS apps enter sleep mode after a few minutes. I don’t mind having location always on for privacy. It’s more for potential battery drain issues on my phone. Although in iOS 11, it seems that location also goes to sleep.

Nope. My car has EAP and took more than 5 weeks to get my VIN. Still no delivery date and I’m 15 minutes from Fremont. Six weeks tomorrow since configuring. I will be officially outside the delivery window that was shown in my account.

Paid via echeck through my checking account, so the funds withdrew immediately. As for the lender, no, they haven’t requested or told me any specifics about delivery or when I deliver the check from the financing.

Just added a similar comment to the VIN assignment thread, but several are claiming white should be next in line for production. But when I sort by VIN and color, black looks next up to me. Black VINs have only been reported as high as the 6000s, while white has been reported in the 7000s and...

I'm sorting the sheet by color and VIN. White has reported VINs in the 5000s, 6000s, 7000s and 8000s. Black has reported VINs only as high as the 6000s, and has a very small amount of reported VINs in the 5000s and 6000s. Why do you believe white is next vs black being next?

More evidence that CA is getting deprioritized. Same configuration, previous owner and I configured on 2/4. No VIN for me.

I have to imagine black is up next for a big production. When I configured (2/4), seems like I just missed the last one. Right after that, a decent run of white happened.

I’ve gotten mine on the phone twice by calling somewhat relentlessly. I’ve found it’s rare that they call you back in a timely manner, if at all.

Perhaps the bigger issue is paint color. I believe that if I chose any other color than black or white, I’d have my car by now considering the pattern of how Tesla is producing batched colors. Maybe... Or they’re prioritizing 19s to pocket an extra $1.5K in the short term.

That’s really just a theory though. We don’t have any evidence that we’ll get our cars before the end of March. And some east coasters are getting their cars already, not in two or three weeks.

I like the theory that the rest of the country is getting early VINs to get them their cars by the end of Q1. Hopefully we get late VINs in CA but super quick deliveries to get our cars before March is over.

I haven’t seen black anywhere! Why would Tesla design energy efficient wheels, hype them up, then reward people that DON’T buy them? If you’re going to pinch people for spending $55K vs $54K, we’ll, that’s crazy. But then again, there’s nothing I can do except wait for them to take my money.

If it makes you feel better, Northern California is looking like we have a similar issue. I'm at more than 4 weeks with no VIN, and live very close to the Tesla Fremont factory. I've seen VINs going out like gangbusters to East Coasters who configured on 2/14 and later who already have delivery...
