Price just dropped for FSD in my account to $2600 from $4000

I will wait until it's actually working even if $2,600 sounded tempting, but even then, not a chance for $6,600. I'm guessing when they are looking to boost their coffers, there will another sale on FSD down the road. No rush, since I doubt it will be working in Canada on launch in any case much...

    Another winter tire thread.

Correct, and I saved well north of $100 on my Nokian R3's. I don't recall the exact amount, however I believe it covered the tax. Anyone know the approximate savings?

Are Canadians still getting Model 3s right now?

I think there is a for lease sign on the building - perhaps they are beings stored elsewhere now? But yes, there hasn't been any Tesla's in that lot (you can see if from the 401), in a few weeks as I recall.

    Another winter tire thread.

I have X-ice on my Subaru Outback (AWD) and they are excellent for most conditions with deep snow or ice being more challenging. The car will bomb through snow due to the AWD and high clearance, but they aren't really that great when it gets bad out, which isn't that common for Southern Ontario...

    Model 3 reliability so far?

I've had mine 7 months and 24k kms (15k miles). Two significant issues so far: 1) MCU had to be replaced at around 15k kms due to failure. My wife was pretty rattled after it started to pack it in while she was driving at 100 kms/hr 2) Recline on the driver seat no longer works on one side...

Is this really going to happen? Adding artificial noise. It’s a shame if so.

It's not really that bad. The hybrid Lexus my Model 3 replaced had a noise at low speed when it would drop into electric mode. The only time I even noticed it was pulling into my garage with the windows down and it was sort of a futuristic spaceship movie sound. Not unpleasant at all and we...

Help me find 18" M3 winter tires in Quebec or Ontario

Agreed, go with 225/45/18 and I found R3's in Whitby at Kal Tire, so suspect any Kal Tire can get them in that size. You get a pretty good discount there for TOCO as well. The narrower tire will marginally help with grip in snow too.

Model 3 seats are horrible compromise decision

53, 6'3" and 185. I think the seats are amazing actually. I NEVER have enough support for my thighs, so they could add one of those pull out pieces like Mercedes has - but you have to accommodate the tiny 5' people as well, so I understand it. The bolsters are great and the cushioning just right...

    Question about the app

I had to have my computer replaced a few weeks ago as well. 6 days in the shop to do it and a ICE loaner with several moves of the time/date of completion of the fix - communication was at best, horrible. I'm wondering if this is a common issue with Model 3's or other Tesla's, though I can't...

Am I going to regret the aero wheels?

I'm using the 18" for my winter rims with wheel covers to increase range due to less range in the cold winter months - which is noticeable already up here. The 18" look good with the wheel cap kit as well, but maximum range will be key in the winter up here. The 19" are great looking rims, but...

Anybody use the stock rims with their Winter tires?

I used my OEM 18" rims with the Nokian R3's and put the aero wheels back on to increase range, as I noticed a reduction with the colder temperatures lately. I like the look of the Replika's, but have a few months to decide which rim to put on in the spring but planning to use the stock Michelins...

New Model 3 owner - What should I know?

I agree. I started charging off a pre-existing 6-20 outlet using the UMC and recently had the wall connector installed with much higher amps. The first solution worked fine, however it wasn't elegant with the lower amps and UMC dangling from the wall. The wall connector is a beautiful solution...

    Which Snows and Why Poll?

I installed my R3's on Thursday and immediately noticed reduced grip in the wet (it was raining) from the stock Michelin's as well as a squirm in the car that reduced confidence at speed (never ran R2's on any car). It was about 7C (45F), so the softer compound was really noticeable leaving the...

Highest Software on a Canadian Model 3

Same - just received 42.4. On 42.2 I noticed a very light regen at speed, then stronger once moving at lower speeds on the off ramps. I thought it was likely to do with the temperature, but it sounds more like the update changed how it behaves. I personally like the heavier regen all the time...

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

Same problem as the rest - song plays for a few seconds then on to the next song, then the next...every few seconds. 3 reboots to fix it twice. Coming out of a parking garage today, in downtown and it took a good 10 minutes to find a signal, when my cell phone on the same network had a signal...

    Aero wheels

Aeros off. They now reside in my basement. I like the look of the rims underneath with the center cap kit and yes, the suction cups from Amazon work perfectly to remove them. I may pop the aeros on in winter if the range goes down as much as mentioned in some threads.

    Which Snows and Why Poll?

Great posts - thank you. The Nokian WR G3 and WR G4 are actually all weather tires - snow rated tires that can also run in the heat of summer. I had them on my wifes car (Lexus CR200h) and they were adequate in summer and snow, but not super stellar in either. If you have a standard sedan and...

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

May I ask how much the rims were with exchange, shipping, taxes and duty? I'm planning to use my aero rims with new winter tires (Nokian R3 or Michelin XIce3) and getting either the OEM rims or a set of TSportline, but don't have a sense of the additional costs incurred crossing the border...

Discussion: Floor Mats in Model 3

I purchased these mats and I am extremely impressed with them. I've had them about 10 days and they seem to be really top quality, even compared to Weathertech which I have on my other ICE car. Tesla Model 3 | Free Shipping | TuxMat Many also recommend the MAXspider mats, though I have no...

All weather mats and trunk tray?

Admittedly, I have the M3 but just received my Tuxmats and they are amazing. Aero wheel cap kit question

I think you are talking about the hubcaps themselves. They took me all of 3 minutes to remove all 4 and I'm sure a pro could do it in 30 seconds for all 4. I took them off at delivery, within seconds of seeing the car and from what I've seen, most other 18" owners did the same. The rims look...

Deliveries in Canada/Toronto, anyone actually get a M3 yet?

Keep an eye out in on the 401 or 400 in the opposite direction - I'm pretty sure you will see a few passing by each day. I was a Yorkdale the other day and a MSM RWD (19") was waiting for my parking spot as I pulled out in my MSM RWD (18") - we both had a big smile on our faces as we waved to...

    Walk away honk

My wife and I both prefer it given the need to just walk away from the car to lock it. We always seem to be looking back to see if the lights blink and mirrors fold, but with the very gentle beep, it's much more reassuring. I don't find it overly loud in my garage either.

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

There was a huge push in late May/June to send cars to Canada to avoid going over the US 200k limit for the $7500 credit before July 1 I believe, additionally there was the change of government in Ontario which means the end of the EHVIP program any day. Those were two major factors for moving...

Model 3 improvement wish list, additions?

    1) Better visibility out of the rear window 2) Ability to increase the font size for navigation directions 3) Bigger brake lights on the screen - it's hard to see when they are on and when they aren't due to regen 4) Hatchback :-)

    Mistake ordering 19” wheels?

I will be looking for winter rims and tires in the fall. Would you mind sharing where you purchased these and what model rim you purchased? Also, remember that ride quality on 18" rims may be somewhat better than 19".

    My new Model 3

Great post! My wife loves the car but would add the ability to increase the fonts particularly for the Nav screen as well. She also wants the ability to tilt the screen towards her when driving. Overall, a great vehicle and thanks for the post.

What do you dislike most about your Model 3?

I love the car, but rear visibility is atrocious for a modern car. I'm 6'3" (and sit high and back of the steering wheel) and the rear view mirror is much too small to take in the sliver of tarmac I see behind the car and with the side view mirrors are impossible to set far enough out to cover...

All good questions. I took delivery in Toronto last Saturday and the various posts have reported 200+ deliveries per day at the International Center location. Model 3 harmonic bounce issue?

There is a few sections of road along that stretch that are particularly "wavy", I can think of at least 3 spots with the worst one just past the Port Hope supercharger heading towards Cobourg. You can put 0% in there and they will subtract the $4200 you have already paid from the total as they are asking for ADDITIONAL down payment that you want to put down to reduce your monthly costs. Bottom line price for my Model 3?

I have not taken delivery, however I did talk to Tesla. From Tesla Finance: APPROXIMATE FEES (ac tax, tire fee, PPSA, etc.) likely around $300 depending on when your birthday is and the number of months to your renewal date. Mine is June, so I'm assuming they will give me a 12 month sticker...
