    2024 Tread wear

If you're going to drive it like a track car, then you'd want all that camber. Those of us that primarily accelerate in straight lines, don't. You might want to get a lifetime alignment, probably about $100 more than a one-time one. Then you can tweak your suspension again in about 5,000 miles...

    2024 Tread wear

You would think so, but no. I took delivery in Feb. Build quality was great, but there's been no change in the suspension in years.

    2024 Tread wear

You know it. But $100 in parts (shims) and a wheel alignment (which you should get anyway) and you'll be good. Yes you're going to wear tires, but what 670+ HP SUV can you buy that won't?

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Maybe I misunderstand some of the graphs, like the "hows my range" one where you and I scored below the rest. I assumed it meant I had degradation, but maybe it means I have a lead foot. I bet driving in plaid mode 24x7 doesn't help. What also doesn't help, is I have a mild case of Aspergers, so...

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

Wow, your camber's all over the place. It should be similar from side to side, not .5 to 1.5° difference per side. At least they should be able to get the front much closer. Was this measured on commercial equipment or DIY?

Some quick stats from this morning, posted before I had a chance to read previous replies.

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Thanks for your input. I don't have any numbers handy, but my range via the app currently says 70%/210 miles. I suspect my W/mile is skewed since I have an 8 mile daily commute, all below 45 mph, and one 100 mile (round trip) a week (half each 60/83 mph), so not typical. I may be a senior...

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Each month my comparative range keeps dropping. It started above the line for vehicles similar to mine, then kept dropping. You can see from the chart on the right, I rarely exceed 80%, or drop below 30. Maybe I need to take it to 90% and down to single digits more often. Last month I...

Sway bar not centered causing rubbing on dips

I can confirm this bar has a ridge to prevent that. I used RECHARGE-365B for $20 off. With the free shipping, it was cheaper than anywhere else I checked. https://evannex.com/collections/sway-bars-for-tesla-model-x

Best place to order Chrome delete wrap kit

Amazon has vinyl kits for cheap, both precut and not. Tesla has actual parts that are black, or you can swap with an existing owner that wants chrome, as the parts probably have not changed in years. Finally, you can simply go to a shop that does wraps and have them do it. FWIW, I did my own on...

Teslaunch Refresh Stalk kit install and review

Finally finished. Thanks for the write up! Before starting, don't assume you have all the tools you need. I had the torx bits, but took awhile to find them. Had to buy the 10 mm (male) hex socket to remove the wheel. Takes some getting used to stalks again. Anyone else have signatures on the...

Teslaunch Refresh Stalk kit install and review

I finally got it (by myself) with a breaker bar. Now to get the wheel off. Back in the olden days you'd use a wheel puller for this part. EDIT: Got it by pulling left, then right, then left, etc.

Who's lowered their X? (pics or it never happened)

I drove mine with rear at max low and suspension set to very low and I bottomed out within 3 blocks. Decided I wasn't going to do that again. I eventually bumped it up by one and dropped the front more. I have Blox lowering links, which you have to measure with a caliper. They're cheaper than...

Going on a summer road trip in Europe: 20” winters (studless) or 22” summer set?

Winter tires aren't recommended for temps above 45° and summer tires aren't recommended for temps below 45°. When I last drove my PY with summer tires and temps closer to 32°, they were real slippery. (I was selling it with the original tires/wheels in a few days.) Personally I'd put the tires...

Who's lowered their X? (pics or it never happened)

My only complaint is I wish I could lower the rear more to match the front. I'm currently 1" above the wheel in the front and 2" in the back in low position. I could lower the rear another 1/2", but that would be the max lowered position and the link hits the sensor with the wheel jacked up so...

Teslaunch Refresh Stalk kit install and review

I'm trying to my own stalk install, searched high and low for the 10 mm hex socket to remove the wheel, gave up and made a trip to Harbor Freight and bought the socket set. Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

Are some of those pics in the very low position? I can't get my rear as low as I'd like to match the front. I'm one setting from full max lowered in the rear, because the link was hitting the sensor with the wheel jacked up.

trailer lighting detection - when nothing plugged in?

Do you have LED or incandescent lights on your trailer? If incandescent, it's probably too much of a load on the circuit, tripping an e-fuse. You may need a trailer wiring adapter that uses the tail lights for switching, but gets the 12v for the lights from a different circuit, like a rear 12v...

Sway bar not centered causing rubbing on dips

I installed a MPP sway bar and the recommendation was removing the rear underbelly pan, but loosen, and loosen, not remove the rear bumper, under which you'd find the sway bar. It was a pain to remove and replace and hard to get at the bolts. At the minimum, you would easily have a several hour...

I'm not shooting anything. You're preaching to the choir. I'm someone who's had 3 alignments in 4 months. I didn't say I agree with MacBoosts policy, just confirming they tell you how many turns to give the toe adjust.

    22 MX Plaid Interior Noises

So what size of felt tape are you guys using? 1" wide, or more? I have what sounds like vinyl on vinyl in the rear. I have my rear seats folded down so don't know if raising them will fix it or not. I'm visualizing it as the back rubbing on the seats. If it's not that, I'll have to start...

Scorning Article On the Model X, Thoughts?

My 2024 Plaid has been great. I haven't had the update that fixes opening the front doors wider yet, but no major complaints. I took delivery in Feb and installed rear camber shims (to improve rear tire wear), then got a lifetime wheel alignment. Panel gaps are good. I love this vehicle.

Tesla Model X 2023 Wheel Alignment?

I have a 2024 and all the places I went to had 2021-22 or 2021-23. I believe these are Hunter. Why is is up to you? That should be the shop's problem. You might want to try to find a lifetime alignment. The ones in the US are less than the cost of two alignments and let you align for free every...

Model Y Performance 21" Tires - Larger, More Comfortable Fitment Details and Experience - Michelin AS4's (With Photos)

Don't get your alignment at Tesla. They align at medium height, yet you spend most of your time driving in low. Their alignment specs are so wide, anything is allowed. Makes no sense. Go to some place that offers a lifetime alignment for a one time fee ~$200. Then you get get an alignment for...

    New X Plaid Poor Performance

I came from a LR3, then with accel boost, then a PY, then a PX. Barely detectable differences until the plaid. All very similar despite their specs on paper. Ordered MX Plaid Last Week - Is This Ok?

You might get one that was refused for good reason and repaired, or refused for a petty reason or something fell through last minute and perfectly fine.
