I have the same smartlocks but my mailbox isn’t locked. No keys at all for me. I like it. Keypad deadbolt that is battery powered. Have them on 2 doors just in case power goes out for garage door and batteries out on keypad.

Or be smart and get battery enabled locks on front and back doors in case of power outage. <— no more keys needed. If phone battery dies I can still walk up to door and use battery powered deadbolt touch pads

Agree. I’ve gotten rid of every key other than the car key. The model 3 completed that process and it’s great not having to have another item in my pocket or something to lose/forget. Phone is on me 24/7, so I’m happy to use it. If free I’ll take a fob but just leave it at home.

You don’t need an insurance policy with your model 3 on it before delivery. Most insurance companies provide a grace period to add on a new vehicle. Just show proof to Tesla you have insurance and you’ll be fine. Add the vehicle when you take delivery and arrive home.

Key card you do have to actively lock and unlock car. I’ve read people have the same car on separate apps but I cannot confirm. GF only gets 2nd key card. :P

Happens all the time. They only hold a car that matches your requested options. It’s not your car until you pay for it. Average time is about 3 weeks for reassignment and delivery. Search the forum. You’re not the first.

At delivery you can make a ACH transfer using their iPads. I did that after inspecting vehicle for an hour.

You can ACH at delivery. I did that for my big down payment. I spent an hour checking out the vehicle and then made the down payment. No need for trip to bank. Picked up vehicle on Monday so I doubt they’ve changed the policy.

No one truly knows but orders are moving quickly. Order what you want and the sooner the better the chance at delivery by end of year. AWD do appear to take longer though but it’s worth the wait

Ask your IDA/ISA to get it signed. I sent an email asking for it saying it was required for my loan. The IDA will get the appropriate person with a license for that state to sign the document that has your esignature on it.

I added EAP after receiving a delivery date. Did not push my delivery date back. No extra fee, just the $5000 for the option.

You could always turn on a sprinkler, aim for driveway, then run to your car not being hit with water and drive it up to the sprinkler location to see if they activate.
