    Drivers side Seat cushion Collapse.

Tesla refused to cover this under warranty. They asked for $1900 to repair. We left as is.

    Drivers side Seat cushion Collapse.

Our front driver seat cushion collapsed on one side. From day-to-day use. Is this normal for a three-year-old car? The mileage is approx. 40K. One side is the normal cushion, the other the collapsed cushion.

Squeaky or Rubbing Sound Rear Seats.

Our 2020 Model Y makes a rubbing sound anytime you are accelerating or decelerating, and when going over bumps. The noise is coming from where the seats meet in the rear. If we separate the seats by a bit, they seem OK. If someone is seated in the back, the noise is not there. Seems to be a...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Our model 3 charged to 415kms consistently at 85%. Recently, it dropped to 360kms at 85%. Like in one day. Has anyone experienced this? The car is a 2018 long range.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Our model 3 was charging at around 410km at 85% for years. Then one day recently it dropped 50kms to 360. For no apparent reason. We tried discharging to 5%, and then charging to 100%. Made no difference. Has anyone else noticed this type of behavior. The car is a 2018, with approx. 83,000...

Model Y Squeaky Noises Rear Seats

No, the noise issue is the opposite. There is no noise when someone is seated. Very quiet. Becomes noisy when no one there.

Model Y Squeaky Noises Rear Seats

We have a 2020 model Y, and there is a squeaky sound coming from the rear seats. It is heard more when it's colder, and when accelerating or decelerating. A squeaky or creaky sound. Anyone else had this issue. Thanks.

    Clunking Noise Rear Seat.

We have a loud clunking noise coming from the rear passenger seat area. When someone sits on it, it gets more quiet. Cold weather makes it worse. Seems to be underneath the seat base, but can't tell for sure. Several trips to service, and they have not fixed a thing. Any ideas or similar...

    Vibration in Steering Wheel.

We tightened the wheel nuts, and have had no issues since then. All good.

    Design Flaw Paint Damage.

I completely agree on the paint quality. Even with ceramic coating, the paint chips very easily. The only other time I saw this was with an aftermarket paint job where the shop did not apply the proper base coat. They had to repaint the whole area again.

    Wrong outside temp reading

We've had fluctuations in temp readings, but I always attribute that to the garage parking. The sensor is probably filtered and does not respond quickly. Probably on purpose and with good reason.
  12. M

Model Y not sleeping when charging

We've had our model 3 stay unlocked randomly for no apparent reason. It does happen, but not often.
  13. M

    Interior trim gap

Yes, this is quite normal. We complained, and they replaced the lower trim. The result was it was worse. They said it was within spec. Blows your mind, but there you have it.
  14. M

    Design Flaw Paint Damage.

There is a bit of a design flaw with the Model Y as delivered. The rear door panels are part of a flare out near the rear wheel wells. The result is damage on the paint due to debris being constantly thrown on it from the front wheels, especially in the winter. Tesla has started selling a PPF...

    Consumption Data

Our model Y seems to consume a lot, more than our old model 3 in the cold. Temps have been averaging around the freezing mark, and yet our model 3 is beating our model Y by a wide margin. The model 3 is averaging 210W/km (336W/m), while our model Y around 250W/km (400W/m). This seems odd...

    Rattles.

So weird, we have had the exact opposite problem. When it's cold, everything gets quiet. When it's really hot, the rattles kick in.

    Another Panel Gap Thread

I think these are really minor issues. I would have broken out the Champaign if ours was like this.

    Model Y acceleration shudder?

No, not lane departure warning. That feature is off. It needs to be looked at by service, but we have had so many other issues, it's been low on the priority list.
  19. M

    Model Y acceleration shudder?

We have had a vibration in the steering wheel / front area that comes and goes. Only at high speed (above 60 mph). I torqued the wheel nuts, and it has helped. But has not fully resolved.

Squeaking noise from both front doors.

So it seems the issue is that the door glass is not aligned properly or getting over tensioned when it goes all the way up. Any ideas on how to adjust the height or tension of the glass on close?
  21. M

Squeaking noise from both front doors.

We are getting a squeaking noise from both front doors, the RH more than the LH. But only when hot outside. Anyone else experience this issue? Any known remedies? Ran a small amount of silicone on the top lip where the glass meets the rubber. Did not help.
  22. M

    Uneven door pillars

Honestly, with the issues I've seen on the model Y, that is very minor. If that is the worst of it, I'd be very happy.
  23. M

    Vibration in Steering Wheel.

The torque on the wheel nuts were mixed - some were tighter, while others looser. Not sure how that makes sense. At any rate, all the same now. Will report back with any change.
  24. M

    Vibration in Steering Wheel.

I will check the wheel nut torque. That is a good idea. Could be a balance issue, but it seems to come and go. Not related to lane departure. This occurs when in a lane.

    Vibration in Steering Wheel.

We have a very noticeable vibration in the steering wheel that seems to be getting worse over time. It only occurs at high speeds, like on the freeway. Any suggestions. The car is new, about 1K miles. Non performance model Y, 19" wheels.

    Rattles.

Have a rattle while driving coming from the RH (passenger) front door or A pillar. Anyone else had this issue. Any easy resolutions?

    Door Seals.

Hard to tell, but doubt it. More concerned about it eventually falling off.
  28. M

    Door Seals.

The door seals on our car were coming right off, on all four doors. I carefully pressed them back in place, but still have the top parts of the seals coming off. Spoke to service, they said it was normal and OK. Thinking of trying some glue, not sure what to use. Any suggestions? Seems to...

Quality of new MY's - is it better now?

I would not rush. Wait another few months at least. There are still numerous issues.

    Delivery Issues.

We received our new model Y this week, and it mostly had cosmetic issues in the interior. The exterior is in pretty good shape. Of particular concern is damaged interior trim in four places. Two in the trunk, and two in the rear. Anyone had experience in having these types of issues...

    Rail Dust

I think you are right, most likely some iron dust got missed, and was not an issue until it was more noticeable.
  32. M

    Rail Dust

Probably not bee poop, but interesting note. Never would have considered. I think our bees around here have largely died off due to farming chemicals. We are left with wasps galore. I would subscribe to the idea but Iron X seems to be the only thing that removes them.
  33. M

    Rail Dust

They are orange in colour, and appear randomly everywhere. Not one particular spot. No irrigation, but could be car wash I suppose. But we use the same car wash with our older BMW, and have seen none on there. Plus, the same older car drives on the same roads.
  34. M

    Rail Dust

We have a white M3 and have had rail dust on it pretty much from the start. I cleaned it off last summer using Iron X, but it has come back. I'm not clear on why it appears again. Thought it may have been from factory transport, but it seems like that is not the case. Is it maybe from the...

    Rustproofing.

Thanks for the suggestion. Was going to try Boeshield T-9 Waterproof Lubrication. Seems to be highly recommended.
  36. M

    Rustproofing.

Yes I just took a look at our BMW that is 12 years old. And it is actually a lot worse. Guess just normal wear and tear with the salt.
  37. M

    Rustproofing.

OK, that is why I decided to post. Was not sure if it was an over reaction, or rather normal.
  38. M

    Rustproofing.

So far not much. Tesla has stated that their cars are not rustproofed often or not at all. They have no specific recommendation. I think we are going to proceed to coat the wheel wells with a local rustproofing shop. The rest seems OK to me. We want to keep the car for a long time, and the...

    Rustproofing.

Sorry, been travelling lately. Uploaded photos. Our BMW has some rust, but is also 12 years old. And is not as bad. Thanks.
  40. M

    Rustproofing.

Have a buildup of rust in the wheel wells. Starting to form on the suspension arms, drive shaft, and other components. Car is one year old. Wondering what rustproofing methods others have used, and how it's holding up so far. Was thinking of Krown locally. Thanks.

    Non-existent Customer Service

Service has been great in our area, no issues at all. Sorry to hear about problems elsewhere. Better service than from any other car manufacturer that we owned in the past.

Model 3 rwd and weather conditions

Not much of an issue in the snow, but if you can afford the AWD, I would probably go that route. You definitely need winter tires with the RWD, but may be able to wing it with the AWD. With snow on the ground and winter tires, it handles about as good or better than our BMW 335i that is also...

    Model 3 paint wearing off

I think there is an unusual amount of negativity over smaller issues with Tesla. If you glance any other car forum away from Tesla, there are numerous negative comments about various issues. I followed BMW forums for years. The big difference is that every minor issue is not a headline...

    Model 3 paint wearing off

We have harsh winters here with lots of snow and salt, and have had zero issues. I think the wear probably depends on several factors, most notably driving style (aggressive would kick up more stuff), and gravel / dirt / off-roading. I don't think these cars are made for anything but...

Pearl White multi coat touch up paint.

I'm equally frustrated. Every other colour seems to be there. Need the white as well.

    Parking Features.

Perhaps I'm not clear on parking features of the M3, but I was under the impression there was some. Like auto parallel parking, or slot parking. We don't seem to have any available. I do see the P come on the screen while I'm driving briefly, and then it disappears. Can someone elaborate on...

    Glovebox.

Yes, the glovebox issue is probably a spring as it does work if you pull the ears that hold it, but as soon as you start using it, the box keeps opening. Will address with Tesla. It does seem like streaming is a problem for V9, but only for Canadian customers.
  48. M

    Glovebox.

With the new version 9 update, our glovebox opens constantly, within 20s. The streaming is also spotty, sometimes works, sometimes has loading error. And when it works, it skips tracks randomly. Anyone else seen this pattern of behaviour? Reboots have no effect.

    Voice commands intermittent

Same issue, it works about half the time. Obvious bug, hoping it will be resolved at some point.

    Tesla Paint Repair Kit effectiveness

Love to use, but they don't even offer the white paint option for an M3. Rather disappointing.
