Duh. I was using the seatbelt latch from the center seat!!! The side latch was under the booster seat!

Yes, the back seat seatbelts are really inset. My booster seat sits on top of the seatbelt when using the latch system. I originally was buckling the seatbelt withe the longer middle seat belt by mistake. No wonder the seatbelt warning kept coming on. It would be nice if the end seat belts were...

And in Nevada our registration fees are based in the price of the car. I’ll save on registration for a couple of years.

Just use the latch on the Chico. I have just a simple booster seat for the 7 year old. Latches to attach it and the seatbelt to secure the child.
