I am not sure. It is somewhat recently that Tesla app added an option to charge from the grid. Prior to that everyone was under the impression that US solar tax credit for PowerWalls requires disabling charging from the grid.

most people have solar with PowerWalls but I do not believe that program requires it. it simply makes more economic sense to have solar charging PWs and use that power during evening peak consumption hours.

@TradeDC , How many PWs do you have in your system? @Redhill_qik , I do not think electricity consumption increase level can be explained by having house light bulbs on more than before. The increase is too large for that.

actually data does not lineup. Meter readings show 8 KWh for July 20th and around 35KWh July 30th and 31st. Tesla does not have dip on 20th and readings for 30/31 are much higher than low number, 39.

Tax credit year is driven by PTO date. If system is installed mid Dec it is not very likely that it will fully approved before the end of the year.

Pricing in the program is rather unusual. It does not use amount of electricity (kWh) but average rate of feed (kw) across all events. I am glad that all events this year are 2 hours, not 3. My recollection is that pricing per kw was the same last year.
