    Help with Annual supercharging award

Hello all, I bought my Tesla X in October of 2018. At that time, I was to receive an ANNUAL 400 kWh supercharging credit. For 2 years, I received this, but this year it stopped. I contacted Tesla and waited many months for them to reply. Finally, they stated that I received the 400 kWh and I...

Thinking about joining legal action on recent massive price cut

I love my Model X, but I regret buying the car in November. I thought I was being savvy and buying before losing the tax credit. The same car is now 15K less than what I paid. Factoring in the tax credit, I'm still losing by 12K. What other company cuts the value of their merchandise so...

Does anybody regret buying Model X for your main car?

My only regret is buying the car in November. I thought I was being savvy and buying before losing the tax credit. The same car is now 15K less than what I paid. Factoring in the tax credit, I'm still losing by 12K. What other company cuts the value of their merchandise so severely? I'm pretty...

Help - has this happened to any other Model X owner?

Most sudden acceleration issues are driver related. Toyota, Audi, and GM have all been mired in lawsuits. The Audi one was ridiculous "journalism". Manufacturing the Audi Scare | Manhattan Institute The Best Of TTAC: The Audi 5000 Intended Unintended Acceleration Debacle - The Truth About Cars

need help identifying possible vandalism on paint

I have not. I have heard that they are great and with less vibration. I just can't justify the cost with the Flex, Porter Cable, and a 3 inch random orbital!

need help identifying possible vandalism on paint

Waxing and sealants (as a general rule) do not have abrasive properties. However there are some polisher/wax combo products, so just be careful and read the label (these are generally mass market products like turtle wax). Sealants will last much longer than waxes, but waxes give a warmer glow...

need help identifying possible vandalism on paint

That's great! Just be careful. Every time you polish, you are going to remove some clear coat. You want to use the least abrasive compound and pad that you can. Tons of YouTube videos out there. need help identifying possible vandalism on paint

I've been using a Flex dual action for 10 years and a rotary before that. It would take some doing to cause that with a dual action. "Dust" is not going to do that. Claying is not always necessary before polishing and the purpose of claying is not to prevent marring, it's done to remove deep...

need help identifying possible vandalism on paint

Doubt that it's from a random orbital polisher. The whole reason for the random orbital is to prevent damage like that. It could be from a rotary polisher. Regardless, that looks like a easy fix. Just take it to an auto detailer and they should be able to correct that pretty easily.

My Porsche does this all the time. I don't think it's necessarily a defect.

    Regenerative braking will be limited?

I'm not an expert, but I was told that regenerative braking is limited if: 1) If the battery is too cold, it's too hard for the battery to accept the charge (increased resistance) 2) If the battery is near full charge, regen is limited to prevent the battery getting too fully charged. I'm not...

No Model 3 fires to date

As they say, “A battery-powered vehicle having a fire incident is newsworthy. A gasoline-powered vehicle having a fire is newsworthy only if it stops traffic.” Are electric cars more likely to catch fire?

    Quality Issues

This post is malarkey. FWIW, I started this thread not to bash Tesla. I love the car and I think it's head and shoulders above anything out there. I would buy my X again without hesitation. The purpose of the thread was just to point out that Tesla still has significant work to do in terms of...

    Quality Issues

Absolutely agree with you. In my case, I took delivery on a cloudy, rainy day in Seattle and I didn't notice my paint issues until 2 weeks later when it stopped raining. If I had seen the paint defects, I would have rejected the car. However, quality issues shouldn't really depend on what is...

    Quality Issues

I think that the people who are so quick to get a re-spray really don't understand how a re-spray differs from original OEM paint job. When your car is painted at the factory, it starts out with just the virgin metal. The surface is prepped and primed with different chemicals/methods than can be...

    Quality Issues

Not trying to be combative, but if you are getting your cars resprayed, why would you say the paint quality is a non-issue? The thing I worry about Tesla is that there are so many cars coming out with quality issues. Of course, Tesla will try to make things right (I also agree that the service...

    Quality Issues

You are right, it is picky. However, when I spend over a 120 K AND get charged 1,500 for "special" color paint, I kind of expect it not to have blotches, scratches, or dust particles. if you know anything about the painting process, you would know that taking it to a local body shop and...

    Quality Issues

No paint job is perfect, but most cars have pretty damn good paint jobs. In my past 20 cars, I have never had a paint issue with a new car and this ranges from Honda to Ferrari. I love my Model X, but the paint is subpar. On my car, there are places where the silver metallic looks different...

    Brakes stuck after wash

My 911's (manual transmissions) did it all the time. My X acts just like the 911's, I'm sure it's because the Tesla automatically engages the parking brake when you put it in park. With automatic cars, most people just put the car in Park and don't put on the E brake and thus the brake isn't...

Preliminary test drive with track mode

It's not uncommon for car manufacturers to deny warranty claims if the car is tracked. Being a past track rat, I think that this is reasonable in certain cases. The amount of stress and wear you are putting on a car while on the track is so much more than street driving. There was a big...

    Question about build option sheet

I bought a new inventory car. The factory build sheet does not include options that I added before delivery (22 inch wheels and FSD). My New Tesla - What a NEGATIVE Experience

I bought an inventory car. In my case, the car was brand new with 8 miles on it. When I told my advisor what I was looking for, she sent me links to cars that were available in my area. I live in the Seattle area and I was told that there reason there are so many new inventory cars in the area...
