I just had Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 installed at Costco. Took a month to get them. I love how they handle. They are a lot stickier than the stock tires, but there is a range tradeoff. I lost about 20 wh/m.

Update: It took one year and 4 months, but they flew out to install the FSD computer today! The delays were understandable... the islands were locked down because of the pandemic and inter island flights were impossible.

I have been making an appointment once a month in the app. Every time they say “Sorry, it’s not in stock yet. Try scheduling at a later time” I’d rather just get a refund on FSD at this point. It seems like it’s never going to happen.

It's only because the car doesn't know the speed limit. In cases where a speed limit doesn't exist in navigation, it limits you to 45. I had the same problem on Kauai for most of my drive.

I guess I need a Hawaii plate before I can take advantage of the incentives. Kauai airport specifically says on the sign "parking for vehicles with EV plates" And it looks like you can't have custom tags either for free parking.

The free public chargers around the island have greatly improved in the last few months. Everyone's starting to install chargepoint. Kikui Grove mall is the latest to replace their broken generic charger with free chargepoint access. I've charged at home twice ever because of the availability...

I think it's totally worth it. I use summon every day in and out of my garage. My 45 minute commute is much better with autopilot. I'm on Kauai so I can't use NoA, but it was awesome in FL on a big open highway like I95.

I shipped my model 3 from Florida to Long Beach in a closed truck and Long Beach to Kauai with Matson on the Mokihana which is like a floating parking garage. It was in perfect condition when I picked it up.

If you are doing a lot of driving, it's going to be difficult for you unless you are staying at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu or an Air Bnb with a charger. There's very few public chargers that actually work. Check plugshare before you book an EV.

I know it's a little different, but I passed safety check with no front plate. They didn't even question it. I still have my Florida tag and they don't issue them for the front. They took the pictures with the iPad and sent me on my way.

There is a free L2 charger at work that's limited to two hours, so I try to charge 2 hours a day. It usually covers my commute to work and back. I usually hover around 60%.

I really hope they can enforce all of that. Simply having an EV space is not enough. They need to be required to MAINTAIN the infrastructure. Most of the chargers on Kauai are broken or have trash bags over them.

I just got off the phone with the service center and they say there are no plans to add kauai to the map to display the speed limit. So basically if you are planning on purchasing a Tesla and you live on Kauai, DO NOT purchase autopilot because it's USELESS. I'm so mad that I wasted $5,000.

I came here to ask this. It hasn't displayed for me at all on Kauai and it's impossible to use autopilot on the main stretch of kuhio hwy that's 50mph when it limits autopilot to 45mph. I never had this issue in FL with the same vehicle.
