Forgot to mention that in IL we get upfront credit for generating solar for 15 years. Energy Credits bring the cost of 8.9 kW system down to sub 10k. Also we have net metering so having powerwalls doesn’t make too much sense unless for total outage.

Just got a call saying the loan amount is too small. $8600 vs minimum 10k. I asked them why even pull the credit and approved me for a loan if the they knew the loan amount is less than 10k. I changed the option to cash for now and will look for financing somewhere else.

Yikes! Reading all the old thread it seemed like a good choice, thanks for providing the updated information. Tesla gives you this credit upfront but any SRECs after 15 years belongs to them. I'm guessing the SRECs would not be worth a lot in 15 years but Tesla having that clause in there...

What do you use to sell your REC?

Are you getting the IL Adjustable Block Program credit? I believe the are all out of money for install >10 kW. I first over sized my request by using summer time electric bill but it was adjusted due to ComEd restriction of only allowing 110% of last year usage. It was knocked down to 8.84 kW.

I did contact Tesla and they are certain that it's either all or nothing. They would be happy to remove the IL ABP credit and let me sell those on my own using a approved vendor but I see that it's hard to find someone that is not the installer to take on these type of transactions. SECTrade...

How are people okay with allowing Tesla claim the credits (REC) generated by the system for the lifetime of the install? In some states these credits are worth a lot right now with an understanding that in the future that the value will decrease. For people in IL, the state provides a upfront...

I'm in the same boat, I saw the terms and conditions and it says they get the REC for lifetime of the system (while ABP is for 15 year block). I've been searching online for the past 2-3 days but don't see much about this. Good timing on your post, hopefully we can find the answer together.
