Bump. Get your 7-seat model Y faster and save $500. We have waited for 9 months for a VIN with this configuration.

Actually cost savings is $500. And if you change to gray exterior color, even more (since it was free when the original order was placed). Anyhow I will cancel this order in a few days if no buyer is found as we won't be picking up this car.

VIS has been assigned for the current configuration (see attachment) this morning. I can put delivery on hold and change configuration if needed.

Selling a reservation for a 7 seat model Y for $250 that I ordered for my wife back in May, but I have since got a used one for her. Order was placed in May 2022. Current config is the cheapest white/black with 7-seats, but you can edit the config as you'd like. You aren't saving any money...

Is the older car with 2 wires instead of 3 missing the camera heater or the wiper hearer?

Yes Tesla ended up canceling my order. Looks like the new parts are not yet available for sale.

You may be running older firmware, try doing a software update.

Does anyone know how to reset the new lithium LV batteries (installed in 2021+ Teslas) after one drains to 0%? These batteries have built-in MOSFET that gets opened when battery is discharged all the way, and I am trying to figure out how to get the battery re-activated. Than you!

@Dimtrsu, Did you resolve your issue? I also have a 2022 salvage car, my contactors are closing when powering the car from a power supply, but DC-DC converter doesn't power on and the car doesn't go into drive or charge. Wondering if I should try replacing vcfront. Thanks

Guys lets cut off the drama and focus on the issue. Regarding the part - tesla resticts sale of all weld on parts and some bolt in parts. Certified body shops cam buy them, non-certified shops can not. This part is a restricted part.

OP, Very likely that you don’t need the whole steering rack to be replaced. Probably only the inner tie rod. This part is not sold separately by Tesla, but you can find it on eBay, or aftermarket on rockauto.com. You can also potentially repair the wheel for less than the cost of a new one...

They are not lying, they are just very biased against Teslas for some reason. And made an assumption that if a part is restricted then it must be a weld-on part.

Your car looks just like it is supposed to look. That part is supposed to be black/unpainted. It bolts on. Tesla will not sell the part because it is restricted - tesla will not sell them to non-certified body shops. This part can be purchased on eBay or from junk yards. Also since the guys...

Driving a Tesla on sand isn’t any less safe than driving any other car. As mentioned earlier, biggest risk is getting stuck.

Both cars have the same exact motors. Newer non-performance cars have a different inverter though, but they can still get acceleration boost.

You need the newest chargeport ecu from tesla (I believe revision 4) and a “bundle of wires (sold on eBay). Then after installing everything you will need to do a software update on the car.

Performance model Y has a different inverter on the rear motor - it has more FETa and can handle more power. Due to this the acceleration boost unlocks only part of the power. But in my experience it was still substantial.

The car won’t close contractors after restarting if it detects any issues with HV components, which causes the 12V battery to drain after a short time.

Update: It appears Tesla doesn't yet sell the new suspension - even though they adjusted my order previously, the items on it were still not the newest versions. According to Model Y comfort suspension? the newest part numbers are: 1188363-00-H front left damper 1188368-00-H front right...

I am still trying to confirm whether these part numbers are for the new suspension, but from my communication with Tesla through the app it appears to be the case (they updated my part numbers - front shocks only - after I told them I want the new comfort suspension components). I don't know...

Tesla has now adjusted my order. For some reason the rear dampers were not updated, only fronts.

I ordered new dampers from Tesla to do a retrofit. The rear springs may also be different but I figured I will try keeping mine so I didn’t order the rear springs.

You need to add it to your Tesla account and use the phone to start the car in order to take it for repair. Then after it's repaired, have Tesla make a key.

I installed a 14-50, that way I can use it for other things. And bought this cable, which can do 40A as opposed 32A for the standard mobile connector: https://shop.tesla.com/product/corded-mobile-connector I bought it on eBay as Tesla didn't have it in stock.

+1 the new upper control arm won't make the ride any smoother.

Rear shocks are the last item on that list.

Does it appear that the strut/damper assembly is the only changed part? I want to do a retrofit on a 2020 model Y.

Are new struts the only difference? All other suspension components are the same? If so, I will buy new shocks to try to retrofit a 2020 model Y.
