    Beware SMETS2 meters

This is a very interesting thread. I have a smets1 and octopus data shows on days where I am completely self sufficient from the powerwall I'm consuming 0.4-0.5KWh per day according to the meter. However I've recently had a zappi installed and noticed this is showing constant grid load, even...

    Powerwall software 1.44.3

Came across this post searching for answers to another issue, but it has been a question of mine for ages, I have 3 powerwalls which can give power out at 5kw each, and Ive seen sustained 14+kw usage from them so know this is working, but always wondered why they would only charge at a combined...

I thought you could use it to grid charge during off peak, time of use etc.

    Charging multiple powerwalls

Is that when grid charging though? I.e. can you charge your 3 at 15kW from grid? Sorry dont know what the max charging rate for a powerwall is in the US.

    Charging multiple powerwalls

Hi, Im in the UK, and really struggling to get an answer to what I think should be a basic question. Cant find the answer in any tesla publications either. With multiple Tesla Powerwalls, can you charge them concurrently at their maximum rate. i.e. if a single powerwall can charge at 5kW...

ANyone have any info on the Barlborough site? Looking back on this thread it appeared around May 2018, with target date of 2019. The area doesnt have a services, but large car parks for an Ibis and nearby Dobbies Garden Centre. Anybody have any further information on this location?

2019.20.1 - Just got this in the UK...

Yes - been connected to wifi overnight for two nights. I have also noticed that in the last couple of hours an AP3 car on Teslafi has updated, but only to 2019.16.3.2, not 2019.20. Its looking like AP3 cars are being held back from the update for now - but no idea why.

2019.20.1 - Just got this in the UK...

Interestingly, none of the AP3 cars showing on TeslaFi have switched to this update. Mine (AP3) is still not offering the update. Is this being pushed in chronological order for the cars, or are they holding off updating the latest cars until it seems all claer from the rest of the estate...

    AutoSteer nerfed in EU

It appears, from what I can gather, that there is no defined standard for vehicle type approval when it comes to autonomous stuff. But within the EU they have now used this UN document as a base for their type approval.

    AutoSteer nerfed in EU

As I see it, the tighter turning will be allowed as long as the speed of this turndoes not result in latteral movement of more than 3ms. What constitutes a "tight turn" is totally dependent on the speed of travel. Ive had a go below, but somebody with a better calculator may be able to pull my...

Has anyone a definitive answer on what the new build code of CH09 is on European X and S orders? Is this new charging hardware that would allow the use of CCS with the S/X... ?

    Model X and S Updated

I would guess yes, you will get new hardware. When it goes to build, go to your account, go to manage order and right click the link "view spec". Select copy link text. Paste that in notepad or similar. You should see a load of 4 digit option codes. The option codes you are looking for I...

Yes, go to your account and go to manage the order, right click the "view spec" link and copy the link text. That text will be full of four digit codes.

    Option codes?

Just to revive this, but have seen a post from a swedish forum suggesting some cars ordered recently will be coming with updated drive train and suspension. Option codes of SU03 and DU03 are appearing on some cars ordered late March. Purchasers earlier in march on the same pricing have cars...

MX towing weight now uniform across rim sizes..?

Can you check the date on the first page of yours as I've got the very same manual version, but page 86 shows the chart I posted above. Mines the UK version, not that I think that should make any difference to towing capacities. This is very strange. Page 86 here...

MX towing weight now uniform across rim sizes..?

Has the model X towing weight on 22 inch rim sizes changed?? I noticed in the owners manual (dated December 2018) that the towing weight is listed as 2250kg across the board on tyre sizes. I always thought the 22 inch rims reduced this somewhat? In sure I read that it was 1500kg in a previous...

    Tesla Referral Program

Doesnt that just show how much the program has been diluted. A handful of people have been rewarded with $250,000 cars for circa 50 referrals. So $5,000 per referral. Which was applied to model 3 referrals. $5,000 on $40,000 cars.. it wouldn't take einstein to figure out that wasn't...

    Tesla Referral Program

Dont like it. All the "influencers" have got their free roadsters off the back of loads of model 3 orders, and now the ladder has been pulled up for the rest of us. Free supercharging (all but useless for those of us that wont be doing long journeys) and an entry into a random, non transparent...

    VW will trample tesla

The system in the tiguan will be the same as was in my 2015 RS6. Lane keep assist. She didn't go "hands free" because the VAG system does not allow that. At least not for more than around 15 seconds before asking for steering input. It will possibly have had ACC (adaptive cruise control) in...

Ah yes I remember that now, I was confused as the service schedule still refers to every 12 months. But same as previous poster above, no mention of sentry mode.

MX owners manual update or not.

I've noticed in my Tesla account that the owners manual has recently changed to a date of 3rd April 2019. However when downloaded the date on the document is 17th December 2018. So has it been updated or not? If it has, what's been updated? Anyone know?

    Can't get a quote for Tesla S.

40, Male, Derbyshire postcode. 11 years+ no claims. Just did it online, hopefully it will be a similar price when I actually take delivery of the car. Couldn't believe my eyes.

    Can't get a quote for Tesla S.

Wow. Just shaved over £700 off my quote! From a previous best of £1,097 using various comparison sites and other insurers, Ive just tried Direct Line Tesla insurance and its £364. Fantastic information - just how many times can you mark a post helpful??!

Was just told that AP 2.0 won't get FSD.

How many of those 20,500 cars are still with the same owner, and for those that have changed hands, do they A, know that the car was specced with FSD from the start, and B, still expect to get that FSD on their used car? Whilst still a large number, I reckon its manageable in terms of refunding...

"The S and X are better cars than the Model 3" - Elon

Is it also worth noting that the option code for the charger looks to have been updated, at least on european orders for S/X. My X (for the UK) went to build 16th March, completed 26th March and shows both APH4 code and more interestingly CH09 which looks like it may be charger related, is this...

    HW3

For what it's worth, and if it helps discussion on timelines for HW3, my order (UK vehicle with APH4) went into production 16th March. I was notified yesterday 26th it was built and is now being transported.

    Can't get a quote for Tesla S.

Wow - just checked mine as I never really gave it a thought. Age 40, 15 years no claims, not in a dodgy area - £1097. Will contact Direct Line as we have their select insurance for home, so will ask them about adding multi car and seeing what they can do.

    Hello and some advice

As a soon to be new owner, this sort of stuff just confuses the bejeezus out of me. With my current dirty diesel, I can pull into any station, whip out a credit or debit card and fill up. Its simple. This whole, app for them, card for that, subscription for this nonsense is just offputting...

    Tesla autopilot HW3

In what world does this make it Teslas fault? I trust the smoke alarms in my house to alert me to a fire. Doesn't stop me turning my oven off though.
  32. R

    Now HW3 is a thing....

Sorry, I too was not clear. Until FSD exists, and it is known that HW3 is needed for FSD then I wouldn't presume any HW upgrades will take place. Why would they upgrade the HW until it is actually required? For all we know it may need HW4 or 5 and even camera/sensor upgrades to make FSD a...

New to EV land. Excited and confused!

Thanks, I too think Ill be safe charging overnight, its just for that one occasion when I (and the wife or kids if they get an EV in years to come) have reason to charge during the day, or we have reason to have some of the other stuff on at night that 3 phase may be required. For now Ill get...

    Tesla autopilot HW3

Once other manufacturers start deploying the same level of tech, we shall see who has been swimming naked. My bet is on the humans, not the tech.

Until there are features available only on HW3 that are linked to or part of FSD package, then would there be any upgrades at all?

    Tesla autopilot HW3

Then, at the risk of sounding what we in the UK call a bell end, it is not Tesla's fault. Its the fault of the driver/s that went to sleep. People fall aslepp at the wheel in all sorts of cars. They die asleep at the wheel in all sorts of cars. The fact that a Tesla makes a system which...

    Unpopular Question

Im new to Tesla, indeed a vehicle with any form of electric motor, awaiting delivery of a Model X sometime hopefuly in May. Model Y Performance vs Jaguar iPace

The main problem with the ipace is that it is built by JLR. Ive owned a few vehicles from JLR, and without exception they have ALL had awful, awful electronics. The in control pro system is simply riddled with bugs, and they take litteraly years to fix them, if ever. Example, I have the new...

New to EV land. Excited and confused!

Just to advise, quote came back today £3,900 including vat. So I'm purchasing the Tesla charger and having it set up with a standard single phase 32A setup, but with redundant wiring for three phase supply in case I run into issues and will opt for the upgrade at that point.

End of a love affair :(

JLR can't get non engine electronics right at all. It is by far and away the most common fault. I've owned JLR vehicles for some years and with each subsequent generation incorporating more and more modern tech, the user experience has been in direct and opposite correlation. The latest being...

End of a love affair :(

To be fair I think you have been more than reasonable. The initial list of defects would appear strong enough to have rejected the car imho. If it's on a pcp then would it be more beneficial to ride out the remainder and take advantage of the guaranteed future value? I'd be insisting on a...

New to EV land. Excited and confused!

New to EV land. Excited and confused!

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. The reason I fear I may need to go three phase is more to do with existing load at the house, its not a daft mansion, but certainly not typical. A quick tot up of regularly used equipment that has the pottential to be on all at the same time puts me at 60...
