I talked to one of the museum/community folks shortly after the Tesla site became active — they made it sound like additional infrastructure was built out in anticipation of other EV charging network vendors eventually adding stalls in that same location. made sense to me at the time. 🤷‍♂️

Update to my previous post. It was an uneventful mobile service appointment. Under warranty. The tech was familiar with the replacement as it's not uncommon in some early Y builds. 15-minutes; not including the driveway chatting. Mine was intermittent, so time will tell if it's really fixed.

not a Kuat, but we love our DraftMaster. We have a 3-wide, but rarely use it for more than one. They do make a 5-wide, but that would likely be pushing the limits with normal bikes.

I don’t know your circumstances, but IMHO the car is well worth the weird purchase experience and the wait. I’m a first-time Tesla person... it. is. amazing. I felt a little apprehensive after reading all of the posts about built quality, etc., but didn’t really have any significant issues...

Wonderful experience at the Seattle/Renton location earlier today. Attentive and genuinely interested staff. Only some minor fit/finish issues... all but one taken care of on the spot. Due bill for the remaining issue - a minor paint flaw that I didn’t want to wait around to get sorted...

Update! Seems the 'home delivery' was my delay. Since I have tomorrow off -- I'm going to get up early and head over the hill to pickup at the Renton delivery center. Fingers crossed there's no show-stoppers. I figure I'll get a good 250+ miles making myself familiar with things. :cool:

VIN showed up on my account page. 19xxx. I was told they needed to 're-assess' my trade and send a new picture of the odometer. This worried me a bit, but it didn't change at all -- as some others have said they lost many thousands during the re-assessment. Final paperwork is showing up...

a new order is different than having them find you another vehicle to satisfy the existing order, right? or does that only happen if you refuse delivery?

Earlier this evening, I received the automated text saying 'plan for delivery between 6/25-6/28.' I'm 250+ miles from Seattle so I've been told it will be a home delivery (from the online chat interface, anyway). I've had almost no 'real human' interactions w/Tesla. My trade and payment info...

The only other variable I can imagine would be the fact I received a call for delivery coordination prior to the tow hitch being announced -- I told them I'd wait a bit to see what happened with that. (that was March, the hitch was made available in April). No "we'll build in the next X days"...

clearly... there are some weird variables at play here. $20 more every 6 months compared to my current RAV4 seems reasonable. I’ve never really understood “insurance company math” :p.

Another data point, FWIW. StateFarm had trouble finding the Model Y in their system. An hour later I got a quote from them: $800-$900 annually. Pretty basic coverage.

I can’t imagine ever needing a supercharger for 90%+ of the trips where we use our bike rack. 300-mile range and home charging covers a lot of ground.

lighting, trailer braking, load-leveling, pull-thru superchargers... all necessary for actual towing. none of that is necessary for a simple bike rack.

signal or noise aside... they’ve never made the European option available in NA for the 3, have they? It could be the clues we see in various forms are for the European market. :( I just wish Tesla would comment either way.
