2019 Model 3, five months out of warranty.

Just been quoted £1200 to fix a water leak and replace the trunk carpet, caused by a common paint defect, cracking around the trunk seal.

I am not best pleased!

sounds odd? why do you need a new carpet can't it just dry out. You can get a used carpet set pretty cheaply

early M3 in the UK had a whole range of boot water leak issues it was very common and with a number of different causes. Most were sorted well before the warranty ran out. sounds like you are unlucky to only uncover it now
