Tesla sells a 14-50 Mobile Connector adapter for $45. EVSEAdapters sells one that seems similar for $100. Usually OEM is more expensive than third-party. Is there anything about the one sold by EVSEAdapters to make it worth $55 more?

It's more likely to be in stock. When I checked just now, the Tesla one was in stock; but there have been times in the past when Tesla's NEMA 14-50 plug has been out of stock. If you really need it now, then paying an extra $55 may simply be necessary.
I've not seen one in person, but based on the photo, the EVSEAdapters unit looks like it has a fold-out grip that might make it easier to remove from the wall plug. Does anybody actually have one who could comment on this detail?

True, but I've found Tesla accessories to be reasonably priced for OEM.
Take the wall box, for example. About the same price, or maybe even less, than a third party EVSE.
