A friend bought this car in the March of 2017. He bought it from Tesla as a 75D CPO. The previous owner bought it as a 60D in September 2016 and traded it in on a P100D. Larry didn’t like driving it in winter conditions. It is in like new condition.

A seller usually expects to take more of a hit on a used car. If the sticker was $76,000 and everyone should have got a $1k referral minus the tax credit and the fact that it was used at the time it does seem to be too high. Vehicles sell quicker if priced correctly because many buyers will not want to offer a significant amount below asking.

The current mileage is 21,400 miles. It has a clean CARFAX with no accidents. $76,000 was the original price as a 60D. The battery upgrade was $9,000.00 which brings the total purchase price to $85,000 +tax. He wants to gat as close to $69,000 as possible, but is entertaining offers.

Not likely to happen. New 75d with autopilot is $80k, or $70k after tax rebates in some states. Car is worth low $60s most likely.

The problem is that when Tesla stopped building the 60’s, people grabbed the remaining ones and also ordered new builds. Tesla then reduced the price of the 75 to around the old 60 price with similar options because they included the glass roof and rear lift as well as some miscellaneous features.

As people have pointed out, you can get a brand new Tesla with AP 2 with Air Suspension for 73k after federal incentives.

Your friend is asking 69k for a car with TWO previous owners now

Have him search the forum and see what cars are going for:

2016 MS 90D AP1 pre-facelift (23k miles) $72k - 90D 72k
Pearl White Loaded 2014 P85D 38k miles - $70k P85D for 69k
2016 Tesla Model S 75D AP2.0 For Sale 75D (with AP2 and less miles) 60k

Your friend obviously can list for whatever price he likes.....I doubt he'll get much traction at that number, however.

It looks like the difference between these is a few weeks. It looks like he Just missed the cut in of AP2. The one with AP2 was $83K before the $5K autopilot. I have not been able to configure an S for under $85K with Dual Motors and 75Kwh battery.
As a reminder, This car is a CPO. The bumper to bumper warranty has over 3 years left to it and good to 100,000 miles. This would be a great car for someone who is going to drive a lot.
Make him an offer.

May want to double check the warranty info. CPO warranty on this car would be 4 yrs and 50k miles from the time your friend purchased it. So maybe 60k total miles? Also being previously CPO, the vehicle will no longer qualify for an extended warranty.
