2017 100D - I think this is the one

I’ve been searching for a few weeks and came across this one:

We agreed on $65 OTD so inclusive of all taxes and fees. I’ve looked at multiple private party ones but those have all been unsuccessful. Either they want some crazy amount or abused the car.

Here’s the sticker :

Is this a good one?

For $65, yes. For $65,000, maybe not. I wouldn't pay that for it. I sold my last Model S, a 2016, for a little under $40K. Of course, anything is worth whatever someone will pay for it.

But I don't see how people are selling a used car for near what the original price was. Whatever.

I think that looks pretty good. I have been watching prices and I think that is a good price. Things to ask about - headlight eyebrows can fade out, driver’s seat can wear but the photo looks good. It might be worth asking about warranty.

Sometime late 2017 the cameras changed. If you want to buy FSD it may require the cameras to be changed.

Every car is different I guess but I have been very happy with mine.

FYI, you should eventually expect to purchase the MCU2 upgrade. MCU1 will be slow and feature limiting (eg, sentry mode). I think it’s $2k for EAP cars and another $500 to retain FM / Sirius.

That is nearly the same spec as mine; 2017 100D, FSD, updated to MCU2, added 21” turbines. We paid Tesla $52k with 47k miles 14/15 months ago. 100% range today is ~306 miles, and ~10% battery degradation today.

Make sure you inspect the rear tires for inner tire wear caused by incorrect camber. Also, if there is shuddar under hard acceleration the front half shafts and bearings are likely needing addressed.

As SoCal Buzz notes, MCU2 is honestly a must have for these!
