@dramsey & @HookBill: If you already knew all of this... please ignore:

If you paid for FULL Self driving then your car has been constantly updated as features are added and
enhanced AND, as indicated on Tesla's order form, the fee you paid includes the computer. They did this because
they were not sure at the time, HW2 computer would be capable enough to perform FSD. Thus HW3.
Of course Tesla is having to use these computers in all new assembled cars as well as set aside some for installation
in older cars like yours that are eligible for the free upgrade. Been reading about many online getting the upgrade so it
is happening on a scheduled basis as the HW3 supply becomes available.
The longer you wait, might be better, because WHAT IF, they have to go to HW4 to get everything to work?? In the
meantime you will still get all compatible updates and enhancements.

From Tesla's website: QUOTE:
Full Self-Driving Capability
Navigate on Autopilot:
automatic driving from highway on-ramp to off-ramp including interchanges and overtaking slower cars.
Auto Lane Change: automatic lane changes while driving on the highway.
Autopark: both parallel and perpendicular spaces.
Summon: your parked car will come find you anywhere in a parking lot. Really.
Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control: assisted stops at traffic controlled intersections.
Upcoming: Autosteer on city streets.
Includes the Full Self Driving Computer

The currently enabled features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous. The activation and use of these features are dependent on achieving reliability far in excess of human drivers as demonstrated by billions of miles of experience, as well as regulatory approval, which may take longer in some jurisdictions. As these self-driving features evolve, your car will be continuously upgraded through over-the-air software updates.

I haven't seen the mentioned anywhere that I frequent, so I think it's a new item in the vehicle menu. In the "Service" section there is a new "Notifications" button that shows a recent history of error messages and notifications.
