I suggest everyone with a Model 3 view this thread on the Model S pages. A very talented guy in Hong Kong (BearBu is his screen name) has developed an HDMI interface that connects to the touch screen. It makes possible viewing video on the touchscreen and can also mirror an iPhone or Android device on the touchscreen as well. And with some extra hardware it also makes possible a 360 degree overhead view of the car. Even better yet the cost for all of the hardware is quite reasonable: $820 for everything, including shipping from Hong Kong.
Right now the hardware is only available for the S and X but I suggest that anyone who's interested visit this thread and urge BearBu to develop a version for the Model 3. There's a video of the 360 degree view on the thread and it's quite amazing. If this hardware was available for the Model 3 I'd buy it in an instant. I'll probably buy it for my Model S as well.
