It took some hunting around, but I bought a gen 2 new in box from someone who still had one, here on TMC. Note that the pricing for the Gen 2, in general is in a "I know what I got" type state, so I would expect to pay more than the price of a new gen 3 if you want a gen 2 specifically.
I wanted gen2 because I already had one and wanted to do power sharing. Hopefully you can find one. I see them on ebay but the price is even more than I ended up paying (which started with a "7" instead of a 4 or a 5).
