Anyone slept in their car during winter?

One little trick to fool the car into thinking somebody is still in it and therefore it remains active is to leave the drivers side seat belt plugged in. Tesla in CA told me this after I had trouble getting the car to start because of a broken key fob. I can't vouch as to how effective this is as I've never tried it.
