Auto dimming door mirrors

After a software update earlier in the year mine disengages the dimmer in the mirrors when you select reverse.

My August 2019 M3LR has dimming interior and external mirrors. I've had no issue with them, and it's a benefit when motorway driving. It's an occasional irritation when some headlights reflect off the bit around the edge of the area that dims.

I don't have anywhere dark I reverse into, my drive has a motion activated light, and I tend to use the camera when reversing on more than mirrors. I haven't noticed whether they stay dimmed when reversing.

Suma mirrors. Not dimming but amazing wide field.. worth every penny.

Does the centre rear-view mirror auto-dim ? One of the reasons I bought the sun-shades for the glass roof front/rear was to cut down glare for night driving, interested to know if rear-view dims also.

Yes. Centre mirror dims in my car.

Looking in the works car park, of the three TM3’s parked there only nine has dimming door mirrors, but they all appear to have the same interior mirror.
