What if you paint your blue vanity plate, green?

That's pretty much what I do. Playing dumb probably wouldn't hurt either too bad we can't get green vanity plates...

Technically no you can't as it is the green plate that allows you to use the lane, not the EV, although you have to have an EV to get a green plate. So if you get pulled over you might be able to talk your way out of it, at least if the cop knows about Teslas.

Yes, that what be deemed "defacing a licence plate" and could get you a fine.

Also only on Provincial highways can you use the HOV lanes with GV plates. GV plates with single occupant are a no go on Toronto City HOV lanes.
