Blind spot detection (audible)

I am just getting used to the interface, love the display where the cars are around you...I noticed there is a listing for audible blind spot detection in the Autopilot menu, but I don’t have Autopilot.

Have yet to try it.

Will it still work (I think I am on the 30 day Autopilot trial)?

Yes, it works without autopilot, but be aware it's more of a crash warning so won't activate until you start turning into a car.

I had to merge into a lane on my left but the guy in the lane didn’t want to let me in. I went anyway and definitely got the loud beep, so I know it works. But I wouldn’t try to set it off just to test it. You have to be almost ready to have an accident before it goes off.

Are you sure it was the beep or was it the other guy honking his horn at you, when you cut into his lane.

Nah, it’s Southern California. We don’t honk, we just use finger gestures.
