Brake hold was gone

I was on my way to work. At the first red light, I pressed my brake but didn’t realize brake hold was not working. I was daydreaming and didn’t know the car was rolling backward slowly. Luckily there were no cars behind me. For the rest of the trip, there was no brake hold. I fiddled around all the settings but could not find a way to turn on or off brake hold. The car was charging in my garage just before the trip so weather was not an issue. Searched the forum but it seems like no one has had this problem before. I’m on 46.2.
I got off the car for coffee and get back in, and brake hold is back.

Yeah. This has happened to several TMC members. None of us are sure what caused it, but it starts working again after you put the car in Park, exit and then re-enter the vehicle. Our best guess was it's some variation of "Autopilot Jail" when something triggers this condition where "Brake Hold" stops working until your next drive.
