Cameras at night

I drove late at night for the first time last night and noticed I continually got camera unavailable warnings, blocked or blinded , yet there were no cars around, some time it would be one camera other times it would be multiple cameras. Are the cameras really that useless at night?
Is this normal. Autopilot still seemed to work, which I thought would e be a no no if the cameras weren't working.

If you're in an unlit area with no other light sources like other cars then it's normal - the cameras can't tell the difference between blocked and dark.

Seems to have got way worse since tesla vision.. it seems to need very bright light to see anything.

Mixture of all road types. Dark ,rainy on occasions.

I had the same problem with two different cams going off and on dozens of times while driving at dusk on a beautiful, dry evening last week. The only other time I noticed this happening was when the sun was rising and directly hitting the passenger side center camera. That one I understood; the latest issues, not so much.
