We keep talking about how only an idiot would do this but I feel like the majority of new Tesla owners would see they have enough battery to do a round trip and wouldn’t think about standby drain. A lot of people turn on sentry and never touch it again and same with cabin overheat protection. We do live in a world where people won’t leave superchargers until they’re charged to 100% to drive 5 miles so I don’t think this situation is too crazy. Personally I check to see if there’s a charger near my destination as well as a last resort but I know if anyone else in my family bought a Tesla they would never check these things and just rely on the in car nav.
