Can I run Pirelli on the front and Good Year on the rear for now?

Hi there I need new front tires, but my Goodyear Eagle F1 on the rear are almost new. I think I want to switch to Pirelli but the tire store I go to says it's a bad idea to not change all of them at once. I don't agree if they are both correct for the car. Opinions?

Discount tire said not to mix tires. I wanted to change from continentals to a brand with a warranty, but they said might harm my drive system, and refused. Costco also would not do it.

Americas Tire which is owned by Discount Tire put Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 tires on the front of my MX (Pirellis are on the rear) and never said anything about mixing tire brands front and rear.
