We have recently received some inquiries from Plaid owners about their brake issues - Grinding noise & vibrations, in particular they are aftermarket rotors that are made thicker than OE 32mm.

So the question is can I install a rotor thicker than stock's 32mm?

Subject to other constraints such as pad thickness and caliper body configuration, usually you can but for Tesla Plaid (S and X) 4 pot calipers due to the OE calipers assembly deficiency which the pad bolts are NOT assembled evenly to the caliper body so anything THICKER than 32mm will have issue unless the pad bolts are corrected to provide "adequate" and "even" clearance to the rotor face which 1.5mm is recommended.

Without correction the inboard caliper pad bolt will interfere with the rotor face during cornering and/or after heat up and members / enthusiasts here shall be aware of the impact and realize the undesirable consequences soon or later.

Here is the solution.
In stock.

As a note to those customers who have ordered our 33mm thick OE caliper BBK, the retrofitted pad bolts were included at no extra charge.
For those who have upgraded their front rotor to aftermarket thicker rotors eg. 33mm or 34mm rotors are advised to have those defective pad bolts corrected.

After correction - Clearance is increased and bolts are now symmetrical (centered evenly to the caliper body).
