Can you take a bank check to Tesla on delivery day?

Hi. I got approval through NFCU and they sent a check in the mail to take to the dealer. The app makes it seem Tesla wants to be paid before hand prior to delivery... Is it still ok to take the bank check to Tesla and have them follow the instructions on the NFCU paperwork to get paid, or has anyone had success with NFCU doing electronic transaction beforehand? I apologize if this has been asked before.

The Plaid thing is super sketchy - they want our banking login credentials? F*** that. You should NEVER give that out. Tesla's encouragement of that makes me deeply question their security practices. (Then again, I've no reason to believe other automakers are any better about information...

I dont know if atlanta is one of the places that doesnt allow direct sales by tesla.

If it ISNT, then that NFCU check should be fine (I also bank with NFCU and paid with about a 50% down payment, and the balance being a loan from NFCU).

If tesla can sell cars in your state, then it should be fine.

Picked up my M3P yesterday and brought a Bank Check with me for the financed portion of my purchase. I had to pay my part with Plaid through the website prior, but the remaining portion that I financed, I brought a check from my CU.

I did this too in NY. Advantage is that they don’t have control of your money until you hand them the check, which Is nice in the unlikely event that you need to reject delivery.

I picked up my MY last year at the Decatur SC and provided a bank check at delivery. I plan to do the same when I pick up another vehicle at the Decatur SC in December.

Just did it today. No issues.

I did a Cashier's check as well. Needs to be made payable to Tesla, Inc. Memo needs to have your name and your reservation number on it (RN#####). It was very easy. They send you a link with what the exact amount needs to be.

As with others, mine was payable to Tesla, Inc and had my name and RN on the check memo.

If you're unfortunately in a state where the Auto Dealer Mafia has blocked Tesla from being able to sell (MI and TX are two of them), you have no choice but to pre-pay. Or move.

financed through Tesla via Wells Fargo... ok to bring a cashiers check to delivery? or will i have to pay prior via plaid?
