bought a roll of 1.5ft x 5ft vvivid vinyl from amazon for $13. tried to wrap the center this afternoon and it turned out ok. I messed up on the top piece but have enough to re-do. 1.5x5 is plenty to wrap the center plus the wood dash...View attachment 549794

Got the Vivid CF roll....was it hard or easy to do?

Not hard to do. YouTube had some videos where they wrapped the model 3 console with bulk vinyl. I watched it and tried it for the first time this afternoon.

One thing I noticed right away is that this vvivid wrap is very staticky. I keep a small microfiber towel to wipe the insides. one pass with the towel and I can hear and feel the static.

Very impressive looking! I didn’t trust myself to do as well with vinyl wrap, so I went the more expensive but easier option and bought plastic console covers. Here’s what it looks like installed:

Question about the Wraps and Plastic covers....Are they smooth to the touch or do they have a texture? I'm wanting to go Carbon Fiber, but would like to have a slight CarbonFiber feel to the wrap.

I installed the Evwraps matrix black on my new modelY and and super pleased and it was pretty easy to install, just follow the YouTube video instructions.View attachment 548535

Plastic covers have no texture. Vinyl wrap has texture.

EV Wraps from Amazon. Love it. Install on the cupholder panel was much more difficult than I thought.

I went with the Brushed Black Metallic from EV Wraps. It's not perfect, but still pretty satisfied. EV Wraps will send you 1 replacement piece for free, so I have a cupholder vinyl on the way to re-do that.

Maybe 40 minutes? My wife helped and I realized it's much easier as a two-person job. Having an extra set of hands to help smooth out the vinyl while you're removing the backing slowly is good.

I ended up going with EV Wraps. I used another vendor when I did my M3 but EV Wraps method was much easier. I really like how they attach the clear alignment pieces to the cupholder portion - made all the difference in the most difficult area.
