Hello

I have included your inquiry number in the subject line above.

Here is some additional information on connecting the unit to wifi:

The Wall Connector broadcasts its own wifi network that you need to connect your phone to, it will time out after 5 minutes. To prompt the Wall Connector to broadcast it’s network, press and hold the cable handle button for 5 seconds. Wall Connector will also broadcast for 5 minutes after powering up, you can also cycle the circuit breaker to turn on the SSID.

Once the Wall Connector is broadcasting again, connect to the network (TeslaWallConnector_######) using the WPA2 password listed on the Quickstart guide sticker. If you have any trouble with the password, type it out in another app such as notes and then copy-paste it to the password. Password is case sensitive, so use cap-locks.

After connecting to the Wall Connector it’s normal to see the message of “connected, no internet.” This is because the Wall Connector is only broadcasting it’s Wi-Fi for the purpose of commissioning the unit, and is not yet online. Some phones will kick you off a network that has no internet and revert back to LTE or your home network, so be sure to tell it that you want to stay connected to this network and if you are having any issues double check that you are still connected to it

To commission the Wall Connector, open a web browser on your phone and navigate to http://192.168.92.1. From there, you’ll be able to select a circuit breaker configuration, and connect the Wall Connector to your home Wi-Fi. I should note that the default for the wall connector is a 60 amp breaker so if that is what was installed it should still work fine if you can’t commission it.

More detail on commissioning the Wall Connector can be found here: Installing a Wall Connector

You will see a “Installation Summary” Screen which contains details of your Wall Connector, including a new IP address for your home Wi-Fi network. Screen capture these details for future reference.

If you have any trouble with the steps above, take a screen shot of the blocking step and send the photo to [email protected]
