check AP and other features based on VIN?

Is there any way to check if a used Model S has AP enabled based solely on the VIN?

I see lots of used Model S for sale from various places both online and offline, but the sometimes the listings are not very specific, so I don't know a good way to confirm if the car has AP (or any other feature) by using just the VIN?

How would this work when AP is software enabled?

The Tesla Tap one shows that you may be able to tell what’s a P but that’s about it.

Couple things ...visually u can check if AP capable(hardware) by looking at the car it’s easy to distinguish between AP1 , AP 2.x ....from the center screen ask for screen shots of driver assistance if shows than u have AP software enabled
