Hello guys,

I have 2013 Tesla Model S 85. Recently I am having error code CHG_f018 “Unable to charge disconnect and try again”.
I looked for this code everywhere but couldn’t find the solution so I highly appreciate if anyone can help.
I read some threads here and see that it’s $3000 to fix but need more information as I am out of warranty. Thank you so much in advance.

Thank you so much Ray. I really appreciate. Yes I checked this already but no specific information on that site.
I have scheduled appointment with Tesla next week. Once I know what Tesla says I’ll let you know. I really appreciate your help Ray.

Thank you for replying.
I did MCU reset and complete power off cycles 2-3 times and surprisingly error code was gone so I was able to charge it till 90% but after driving 40-50 miles the error code reappeared. I tried home charging and super charge. So couldn’t figure it out what kind of issue it is. I am out of warranty and have scheduled appointment with Tesla and hoping not to get charged for $$$$. Thank you.

Clear the code again and supercharge. If the code does not come back then something is wrong with your home charger. How old is it?

I supercharged twice

After clearing the code I supercharged and it let me charge but after driving 40-50 miles error code keeps coming back.
It’s 2013 Model S 85.
