CHINA sales finally taking off

Tesla overcomes China stumbles as sales triple, pass $1 billion

parallel to that I visited Shanghai & Shenzen last week and spotted more cars than last year.

Who can share more details?

Something is odd with the data behind that figure. According to import figures, 25-30% of all the cars shipped to China were in December. With the gray market, I suspect Tesla dumped a bunch of cars in the China market and discounted the hell out of them. Other data showed Tesla discounted the invoice (MSRP) by 7% last year.

It's possible that production is beginning to surpass demand. I don't remember any other time where there were 700-800 new Teslas available for immediate sale. (Ev-cpo.com)
