Considerations when swapping P3+ 20" stock wheels to Tsportline's 18"?

Any gotchas or things to look out for? Perhaps assume Michelin 18" Pilot Sport 4S tires. Has everything worked perfectly after installation, and how has your experience been overall? Does one have to worry about switching over the TPMS sensors ? Any issues with AP, calibration or balancing which may need to be done by a pro afterwards?

I assume the ride has smoother and quieter afterwards.

I did this last year. No real gotchas, just be careful when mounting the 18s as there isn’t a ton of clearance between the brake calipers and the inside of the wheel.

Otherwise, I have about 14k miles on mine and no complaints. Ride is both quieter and smoother, albeit handling suffered just a little. Great for my wife’s commute through the city each day :)

Assuming you ordered the full package through Tsportline it’s plug and play. TPMS will sync within a few minutes driving and bring up a screen alert to choose the new size of your wheels.

I also did the same thing last year. I have not noticed any perceptible change in either efficiency or quietness. I did order the entire set including MXM and TOMS from T Sportline, and subsequently sold my 20” for roughly my purchase price for the new ones. As with any new tires rebalancing tends to be desirable after a few thousand miles has even accumulated and one must pay for that if purchasing as I did. If you buy the tires from most aftermarket sources you’ll probably have rebalancing included. To clarify one needs to be seriously anal-compulsive to think I needed rebalancing; I probably am so I did.

Oh don't the wheels fit flush against the hub? I thought you'd just push the wheels into the bolts as far as they would go...

What tires did you get?

That is true, but there isn't a whole lot of clearance between the caliper and barrel. Just try not to nick the caliper while aligning the bolt holes onto the bolts. But yes, the wheels sit flush against the hub.

I got the Continental DWS06 all seasons.

Here is a visual reference of the 18" TST brake clearances. If you feel safer with larger brake clearances, 19" TST or 19" TSS is a great alternative.

I know you have the PS4S, but any chance of selling the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ for your 18" wheel/tires combo on your site? It looks a great compromise between sticky road grip for the summer and when it gets below 5 degrees C for the colder months.

Not at this time, but you are welcome to order the 18" TST Wheel Set and install your preferred tire.
