Dashcam recording as I parked the car

Today as I was driving normally just to do some errands, just after I had parallel parked, and as I was looking at some settings on the touchscreen, I noticed that the dash cam was recording (the little red dot was lit). Why would it do that? I didn't bump another car or anything -- but maybe I came close to the curb now that I think of it? (New Model 3 Highland AWD.)

Dashcam is always on, unless you manually turned it off. Dashcam is always recording, in a 1 hour loop, when the car is in drive. Dashcam doesnt have anything to do at all with "getting close to the curb" or bumping / hitting something. It sounds like you are confusing dashcam with sentry mode.

Yep, and you can edit the menu bar to permanently display the dashcam icon to make this process easier.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted that note. It's always RECORDING; it's not always SAVING. Thanks for the response.
