Quick question - how long does it take to get your $5k Model S deposit back if you change your mind? It would be excellent for Tesla Motors to cover that here.

I don't have an answer to that question but why place a deposit on an "S" if you know that the "S" will be available in mid 2011 to early 2012?

I think that the "S" is such a game changer that I would go forward to production. Good luck in your search.

I don't think it makes much sense for Tesla Motors to cover it here. This forum isn't officially affiliated with Tesla, but you may still find an answer from people who have already put down a deposit. The quickest way, if you are serious about it, is just to call them up or email them at their website.
