Driving America Forward Act - New $7,000 tax credit?

I know this is a bit out of place for this post but since this is probably most pertinent for those considering whether to buy a new or used Tesla, I thought it might still be appropriate.

I've been following this new bill that was proposed in the House back in April (following link will provide more details for those that are interested - H.R.2256 - 116th Congress (2019-2020): Driving America Forward Act).

Just wondering:

1) Are there any members out there more in tune with DC and whether this might become a reality?
2) Is this changing anyone's thoughts as to whether they buy new or used and/or the timing of a purchase?

Thanks,
Tom

Our sitting president jokes about climate change all the time so my guess is he doesn’t really care about incentives to push people towards cleaner vehicles, signing this bill would be costly...he would turn it down my guess.

Think about, Toyota & Tesla alone would pump out 400K in cars that is over 3 billion in incentives.

I think we might be surprised.

Unfortunately right now its all dems sponsoring it.. someone needs to cross the aisle and make a deal on the wall or something else that is a hot republican issue.

Also they need to add provisions for free parking, no tolls, no property tax, no sales tax and HOV, HOT, ETL lane use.... then it would gain support by a lot more people.

He does care about cars made in America. There is an opportunity for BAHA (Buy American Hire American) people to transfer credits available for foreign auto makers to domestic companies like GM and Tesla.

I thought most here were against tax breaks for the rich? Oh no they are just for tax cuts for themselves.

Median household income is something like $56k, a family making $56k isn't buying a new $35K+ car. Tax credits on a new car are a tax cut for folks that may not be rich but are doing pretty well on their own.

Far as coal powered vehicles, I have a coal powered P85, 55% coal powered.

I’m in Va we have coal powered electric too.
Wonder if the tag Rolling Coal will fit on an clean special fuel plate in Virginia?
