Electronic filing fee increase after financing/down payment? (California)

I just had a really weird thing happen to me. I ordered a used Model 3. Last night, the MVPA became available as well as the option to submit my down payment. I submitted my payment through the app and sent the MVPA over to my lender to finalize the financing for the remaining portion. Today, I opened the Tesla app and found a notice on the payment page that said an additional payment was required. The payment was for $1.00. No other communication came to me and also no clarity about what changed. I downloaded and looked the the MVPA in app again and noticed that the Electronic Filing Fee went to $31.00, when previously it was $30.00.

I reached out Tesla about how & why something like this could change after the original MVPA was provided, financing secured and down payment paid. They had no info and actually closed the chat on me. I'm completely baffled by this.

Anyone else had this happen to them? I'm in California and looking at our DMV's fees, I see mention of it not exceeding $30. I can't find anything about the fees increasing anywhere. I know it's only $1.00, but I can't help but feel like this is shady af.

I would ask to speak to your delivery specialist (not chat via computer), and see if you can get that resolved. No idea, but I suspect they may correct it for you. "Chat" does not have any ability to correct anything like this.

That's the thing. I don't have a delivery specialist. No one from Tesla has ever contacted me. I hate Tesla's CS through this process.

Im not super familiar with the used car process, however before you pick up the car, you will have someone assigned (delivery specialist) whose job it is to deliver the car to you. ask that person when they reach out to confirm scheduling for pickup.

I have the same exact thing happening to me on a new Model 3. $31.00 filing fee when it was $30.00 before. I'm taking delivery in just over a week. Let me know if you have any updates.

UPDATE: My delivery specialist said it's on the DMV's side. They raised their prices by a dollar so we're on the hook.
