I also track all expenses on my vehicles, have for 20+ years. Personally, I would log this on my spreadsheet as follows:

  • In all situations, I'd add the the estimated kWh added to the battery into my spreadsheet. I track the kWh consumed at home (at the EVSE, not the trip meter on the car because the trip meter doesn't account for all usage).
  • If I would have paid for parking anyways even if I wasn't driving the EV (example: visiting a museum), I wouldn't record the cost as $0.00
  • If I used that parking lot only because I was driving an EV (opportunity charging during the day, charging stop while on a road trip, etc...), I would put the full $10 in the spreadsheet.
These spreadsheets are really for our own entertainment, so do whatever you think is appropriate.
