Ford c-max solar energy concept

Cool concept. Realistically for me at least, I'm not sure if I'd park my Tesla outdoor for sunlight. First the car gets dirty a lot faster and 2nd those pesky birds look at my cars as a target.

Yeah, will it work thorough a car cover?

As I said on the other thread, It's ridiculous to move the car. Sun-tracking solar array systems are already in use and could be adapted for pointing the lens array. Still though, it does not even seem worth it.

- Batteries are expensive
- Tracking systems cost money
- Inverters cost money
- Wiring costs money
- The lens is cheap
- The canopy could be cheap
- It's a car: it can already move
- It's a Ford: they already have self-park systems and you can bet they're working on self-drive like other companies
- It's a PHEV: it has a big battery

I see this as an interesting concept. Just don't stand under an empty canopy.
