My passenger rear tire took a piece of road trash that exploded it. I was on the Altamont Pass in NorCal, which for non-locals is one of the major E-W passes at altitude between the Central Valley and the Bay Area, and has no shoulders and lots of big rigs speeding downhill on your tail. My 2020 Model 3 AWD immediately notified me that I had an extremely low drop in tire pressure (45 down to 23psi) but being on the rear, I still had full steering control when and after it blew out. I was able to slow down and get the car to the next exit and to a tire repair shop before it went completely flat. Best part? The rims survived and were reused!
Thanks to another posting on this site, I just reset the rear tire low tread warning after the new tires were put on too! Glad to share my experience and learn from you all!
