Holiday Auto Pilot now overly sensitive to traffic merging from right?

Did a drive with updated AP on interstate today. Twice, when a merge lane was joining the highway and there was traffic in that lane, just ahead of me, my car hit the brakes pretty hard. Both times both vehicles were still safely in their lanes, not merging into me. There really was no need to brake. Anyone else had a similar experienc? This did not seem to happen with previous versions.

This happened to me the other day and it braked so hard it jerked me forward. Never had this happen in 8 years.
